The ULTIMATE controller for PC/Switch
Dudes, I am blown away by the quality of the 8Bitdo Ultimate! (Bluetooth version)Sports 22-hour battery life and can toggle between Bluetooth (native Switch and PC) or 2.4ghz which is an alternative method which directly connects it to the included exclusive USB Dongle (this is optional and it works with Switch natively). The Joysticks are using the magnetic Hall-Effect sticks that will NEVER DRIFT due to them never making contact to wear out the senosr like normal sticks. Even Pro Controller CAN get drift! They also feel GREAT!Also the back triggers are full ANALOG which means that you can actually use this with racing games that detect the level of pressure you apply for the gas. Also this means you can use them with GameCube emulation like how in Sunshine you could lightly hold the FLUDD trigger to walk while you squirt OR full press to become stationary and aim you FLUDD squirt. The D-Pad feels extremely classic and it is MUCH MUCH MUCH BETTER than the Pro Controller's D-Pad, which is garbage. It also seems to not give false diagonals like MANY Switch controllers do; even the Pro Controller does this and it SUCKS! It's like how if you slide from pressing right to left repeatedly and sometimes the damn thing detects up or down. I HATE this! The buttons feel great and have a ounded top like an Xbox controller. They are also symmetrical unlike the slightly oval positioning on the Pro Controller. It must be noted that Plus and Minus buttons are in a completely sensible spot!!!It comes in white and black and the charging station matches the color as well. The charging station is powered by an included Type-C cord which connects to the Switch or any USB honestly. It surprised me when I seated the controller that it lights up while it charges and this looks very appealing. Also pictures won't do it justice, but the charging station makes it look like it's on it's own personal display stand, which is deserves and it hides the 2.4ghz dongle.

Love this controller
Other than being too big for my five year olds hands, perfect controller. Plus, 8bitdo has options for that. Can play for an hour and it's comfortable still. All the connection options work great. Charging stand is convenient and discreet.

Second best controller I’ve ever used
Motion controls only work in bluetooth mode. Wish they worked in 2.4ghz mode but they don’t. Dont work in wired mode either. Why is this an issue? Bluetooth can have layency issues for high paced fps games.Motion controls are as good as the switch pro controller. There’s no nfc, and if there is, I couldn’t get it to work with amiibo. If you don’t care about nfc or just want to play games on pc, I recommend this controller. If you can afford the xbox elite series 2, it’s a much better controller for pc gaming and it’s regularly on sale for $99 at walmart, target, and gamestop. There is basic 2 type high and low rumble. Not hd rumble. If you want hd rumble and nfc, the switch pro controller is better.L4 and R4 are prominently placed and are a bit too easy to press and had a lot of accidental presses. They should be harder to press in, so I ended up not using them at all. Other controllers make the extra buttons harder to reach or harder to press which makes them better in my opinion. The windows software is hot garbage. No minimize function and when you close the software, it defaults the controller back to windows. It also requires that you be in 2.4ghz mode so you can’t orientate motion controls. You can do it in steam thankfully. That being said, I give this a solid 5/5 controller at $70, it feels like a $70 controller. I can’t find any faults with it at this price point. I like the modern design. Wish it came in more color choices of other arrangements like the dogbone snes style that I prefer. There’s better controllers but they cost more money. The feature set of this scratched off 9/10 points for me with the missing nfc being the largest annoyance which isn’t a big deal at all. If you’re on the fence over this or something cheaper, buy this controller. If you’re choosing the xbox elite 2 vs this, get the elite 2. It’s a good controller from a great brand that’s nice and solid feeling. You wont regret it if you buy it. I expect many months of hardcore gaming out of it.

Great controller, but
When using it with my "switch made for PC", the 2.4 won't connect, only Bluetooth. And the Bluetooth is so laggy that, it's not worth using. Plugged in, works fine! "Switch made for PC" doesn't have the motion controls working though, even though it does detect them as there with Bluetooth. So just keep that in mind if you're also looking to have a good use for PC switch!Otherwise, the feel of the controller is great, the grip is good, everything but the dpad is 10/10. Dpad feels loose, it could certainly be clickier

No drift!
This is the best controller I’ve used with the Switch. After almost 6 months of use I’ve had zero issues with it.I do occasionally experience lag time when using the controller but I believe it has more to do with my Switch getting hot while playing multiplayer games like Smash Bros. or Goldeneye. I don’t think it is the controller because the joy cons will also lag when playing. The only way to avoid it is to use a corded controller but I don’t play at an elite level so I don’t worry about it.I have a white one and I’m considering getting a couple more colors for Christmas as my kids are always wanting to use mine, lol.If you are on the fence, get it! Great battery life, and after the initial pairing, there’s zero issues connecting it. It can even wake up the Switch if you shake the controller which is a nice benefit. The only complaint is with the software. The controller can hold 3 different custom controls but for whatever reason, I can only remap buttons for the first setting. The other two, all I can do is adjust stick sensitivity and rumble. Still, it’s a small complaint and maybe there’s a work around for the button mapping?
