A Prayer Book for All Seasons
I have a hard bound volume of Common Worship: Daily Prayer, but prefer this leather bound version with the title embossed on the front cover. I like the feel of a leather bound book in my hands, particularly when praying the Daily Office. It's a sensual experience-the leather binding, not my prayer time. This particular volume of Common Worship contains only the modern language version of the Daily Office, not the "official" 1662 Prayer Book. This book is official too. The General Synod of the Church of England approved this version, without the consent of Parliament. Only Parliament, (by British law), can amend or make alterations in the 1662 Book of Common Prayer. This daily prayer book provides not only for Morning and Evening Prayer, but also for Prayer During the Day, as well as Compline, (night prayer). Additional intercessions, canticles, and collects are included. Common Worship: Daily Prayer also provides seasonal, (liturgical), variations of the various prayer forms. It is a handsome book and a delight to hold. Of course, the prayer book is meant to help one pray, not just sit on a shelf collecting dust.

The best resource and aid to prayer that I have found
The best resource and aid to prayer that I have found. I have been praying the office of morning prayers for over a year now and has been a rich blessing. Anyone who is finding their prayer life flagging or concerned about only praying intercessions; this will be a great help. The yearly lectionary is also needed which gives the appointed psalms and readings for each day of the year. It also enables the Bible to read over a one or two year period. The material is structured in such a way as to enable the user to adapt to suit their circumstances and time availability; although to pray an office will usually take half an hour; but time very well spent!

Beautiful edition of Daily Prayer
Having already bought the smaller 'Time to pray' a couple of years ago I was finding it unsatisfying, so was delighted to discover the Common Worship Daily Prayer. Very pleased also to find this lovely edition, much more affordable that the leather bound version, but nevertheless this one has a very special feel to it. Very pleasant to handle, it somehow enhances the mood of daily prayer, and gives a wealth of material to cover every occasion. I know this will become my daily prayer companion. Highly recommended.

Common Worship: Daily Prayer
I chose this book because it's being utilised in my Church. A very simple guide to daily prayer from morning till night. There are also prayers for special days like Epiphany, Ash Wednesday and many more. I would highly recommend this book to any Christian who wants to have a structured prayer life and closer walk with Jesus.

Ribbons
This is the Common Book of Daily Prayer which is quite easy to use. Unfortunately the book as one problem which seems to be held in common with all C of E books. the ribbons frayed instantaneously. Now I have various prayer books at a lower cost and the ribbons are amazing. I just think that with the prices the C of E charges for their products they could get the ribbon issue right.

A brilliant aid to prayer
The first copy had some major issues but on contacting Amazon a replacement was sent out immediately. The replacement book is brilliant. I am chronically ill and disabled and this book really gives such a strong foundation to faith plus knowing you are part of a bigger prayer helps me feel connected , not just to God but to other believers. Of all the prayer tools I have tried this is by far the best. It leads easily into to spontaneous prayer and even provides spaces between the readings for it ,and it has prompts for intercession. Highly recommended. I would say that this book will be second only to my bible. It is that good!

There is an excellent reason that there is no lectionary
Why no lectionary? A brief description of the current CofE Lectionary is necessary. There are effectively three different lectionaries: One is for use on Sundays, assigning readings for principal, secondary, and tertiary services . The second is for use in Daily Prayer, morning and evening. This lectionary is intended for use in places such are your home or monastic communities where the same group of people are either following the lectionary privately or attending services every day, morning and evening. This lectionary follows a 'long narrative' of the Church seasons. The third is for use in place of the second in places where it is necessary to have readings which follow the Church seasons, but are thematically able to stand alone; for example, a large Church or Cathedral with great numbers of fluctuating visitors. To complicate matters even further, the first and second lecitonaries mentioned above are on a three-year cycle. The complete lectionary is quite complicated, and would be difficult to follow on a daily basis. For this reason the CofE publishes a yearly lectionary which lists the various readings for each calendar day of the year. To give you a sense, the Advent of 2013 through Trinitytide of 2014 lectionary is an 88-page stand alone volume. For the time it saves, purchasing this inexpensive lectionary volume each year is entirely worth it.

Common Worship… Services and Prayers for the Church of England
This is the Daily Worship book for the Church of England. Beautiful material. I bought the hardback version. Would have preferred the soft leather cover but quite a bit more in cost.
