Q: is it possible to cut the teddy off without leaving a hole?

Difficult to say without being able to see underneath the bear to check whether there is any additional material there that would cover the gap. My guess would be that no, the bear itself is part of the fabric that is the top layer (above the satin layer) and that removing it would leave a gap you may or may not be able to stitch up.

Q: Is it just the edges that aree satin or is the reverse of the bear satin ?

The entire bottom side underneath is covered with satin as well as the edges. The top part is entirely plush. Hope that helps!
