Back to the Roots Organic Microgreens Grow Kit with Ceramic Planter, Expandable Soil, Organic Seeds, and Germination Lid

I love this little micro green kit! The kit is pretty much self explanatory and the instructions were easy to understand. The amount of seeds you get could easily cover twice the surface area of the ceramic dish. Quality looks great. Just planted and watered today, will see in two days if they sprout by then like it says so I will come back and update if things don't grow accordingly. I also like the fact that you can get text reminders to water it so you don't forget! I can't wait to snip these delicious greens and add them to my sandwiches and salads! EDIT* These are DELICIOUS! I add them to everything as a pretty little garnish but my kids have been asking for them on their sandwiches! As a mom, I am THRILLED that they ask for them because of the health benefits from the microgreens alone! For $10, this is a MUST have in your kitchen! I loved the reminder texts I got from Back to the Roots and guide on the website. It was fun to watch the process from planting to sprouting and the growth every day! This easily became a regular addition to my live herb garden that I have in my kitchen! You can even use the seeds to grow spouts in a jar! I regularly use sprouts and now microgreens to add freshness and nutrients to our salads and sandwiches. I have ordered other seeds from them and have not had any issues! Seriously, this company is a God-send and this kit is a MUST HAVE!

I really liked this set up directions made it easy to follow. The container is clean looking the micro greens grew quickly and abundantly it was totally worth it. The planter is nice and we’ll made tray and the micro greens tasted good. No complaints.

I thought something crawled into my kitchen and died by day 5--the sprouts smelled so foul they made my entire kitchen area stink and I had to throw the growing sprouts away because I read online that if the microgreens smell bad, it means that the greens are molding/rotted. Followed the directions (which are obnoxiously imprecise: 3-5 Tbs of water daily... so is it 3, 4, or 5?! and what is the factor that determines more or less?). At least the microgreens did grow partially before they rotted and stank. I would not recommend this kit, and will be checking to see if a refund is possible (probably not as there are no seeds or soil since it's a one-and-done type of kit). I think the greens were over-watered as this is a primary culprit for sprout rot, if you do end up getting this: note that you should NEVER pour 3-5 Tbs as the instructions state, but only pour 0-3 Tbs daily.

My First one arrived broken but amazon sent out a ups driver to pick it up for free and had a replacement sent out the same day. Once it arrived, I was impressed with the quality of the ceramic and the sheer number of seeds that came in this kit. Since there is no bottom watering option, I'd say there is about 3 cycles of seeds in the kit since I don't want a dense forest of microgreens that won't allow water through. These microgreens are very good and dont even make it to a plate most of the time cause my kids beg me to harvest them. When they do make it to a plate, they are very tasty garnishes to any dish. I got mine for $12.99 but I have seen it goes as Low as $9.99, at either price this is a good addition to a desk or kitchen windowsill.

This would be fun for a young child to do. I have used the micro greens twice. Very bright and crunchy. Perfect to add to simple fresh carrots or something for sophisticated. I think it is a one time use. So far, the stems I have cut have not re-grown. But it’s early…

I did like this product for the most part. It is a good deal for the price. The little ceramic dish is cute. However, FYI, the germination lid is nothing but a piece of cardboard. So it will not last very long. I did laminate mine to keep it from getting ruined with water by accident.

I followed the directions exactly against my better judgment. I have never grown microgreens before, so I followed the directed protocol. I think it was too much water. Some of them were growing and some were not. I thought it might just take a few more days. Then, I started smelling a really foul odor (poop smell). Uck! Trashed them. So disappointed. I even had purchased two of them because we have both been enjoying microgreens from the farmers market. Two stars for the ceramic dish. It is nice; maybe I will try again with different dirt and seeds and much less water.

Can't wait to get this going. I bought several different types of sprouting greens seeds and this came with a few packets of good ones too. I bought 3 microgreens kits.

This is a pointless concept that’s vastly overpriced — just a small rectangular ceramic plate costing ten times more than a regular one from a store.

Preis Leistung stimmt gar nicht! Für eine kleine, Keramikschale fast 25 Euro? Das steht in keinem Verhältnis. Das Zubehör (Samen und Pflanzpetty) ist auch total wenig. Nicht der Rede wert. Sehr enttäuschend!

The instructions were super easy, grew nice and quick and the little white dish meant it didn't feel cheap... Two months in and the soil has gone mouldy so we've had to chuck it away
