Yes the plug can be removed. One main purpose of this is so that the lead can be fed through a very small gap and the the plug reattached.

Could i run this from the house to a summer house in the back garden on a permenant basis?

Yes, but I'd get a professional electrician to put a permanent line in with weather protection. As I see it this kit is designed for working outdoors and is safe if there's a sudden shower or it's dragged through dewy grass or similar. 365 days and nights with rain, hail, snow, ice, sun etc would tax it.

I need to plug this extension lead indoors so need to remove the plug will i have any problems removing the plug please?

If you can fit a plug to an electrical appliance you won't have any problems - mine plugs into a socket inside the garage, the cable passing through a hole drilled in the outside wall.

Can I use this for an outside electric patio heater which states 2000 watt on its label?

Yes, but un-wheel *all* the cable first as you're drawing a lot of power. Failing to unwind the cable out of the tight rapped reel will cook the cable and the thermal protection *should* kick in. The extension claims it supports up to 720w wound up, and upto 3120w unwound.
