New lease of life for my ironing board!
Very happy with this; really good quality. It's easily fitted: it's got a strong drawstring all the way around (including round the end that fits over the head of the board) and the string ends are pulled tight at the toe end. There's a nifty little plastic doodah that you wind the trailing ends of the strings around, and it tucks inside the cover under the toe to keep them out of the way. In addition to this there's a rubber tension strip that fits under the centre of the board to keep the cover taut. I fitted mine and it still had a few packing creases in it, so I ironed them out - however this made it a bit looser so I had to re-tighten the drawstring. Not a big job, but had I thought about it beforehand I could have ironed it before fitting and it would have been more straightforward! The quality of the fabric and the stitching of the drawstring tape seems absolutely fine. Time will tell as to its durability - my previous Minky cover lasted less than a year before disintegrating - but initial impressions are good. Update June 2018: 18 months later and still going strong! No problems with this cover at all, I haven't needed to adjust it or refit it, and it's still as pristine as the day I first fitted it. Would definitely recommend. Update Feb 2020: the cover still looks like new :)

Good quality easy to fit
Great replacement for an old original cover (must have been 20 years old. Fitting was quite easy though was surprised to have to cut the felt to size. Was quite thick needed a decent set of scissors.

The best cover by far
I've been using this cover for a little over a week now but with a good few loads of ironing, and I have to say it is by far the best cover I've ever used. I have had a Minky metalised cover in the past and went to buy another but the quality since my last purchase just wasn't the same. I went ahead and paid a little extra for the Brabantia and I'm so glad I did. It makes a quick job of ironing, yes with a lot of garments only one side is needed (I find this wonderful and quick when it comes to ironing children's clothes) I don't have a Brabantia ironing board but the 124 x 45 were the exact measurements I needed and it fits very well. I use it together with a cheaper non-metalised cotton board cover underneath (or you could use your original cover) I do this because the Brabantia Silicone Ironing Table Foamback Covers 124x45cm has tiny holes or dots in the fabric (intentional) and I didn't want anything to dampen the new felt I had fitted underneath (I had read this is what happened with a previous reviewer). All in all it is a very good combination for me. I love the fastening as well which I think you only get with Brabantia. 5 Stars.

Adequate, but regard as a consumable
Have used a Brabantia board for many years and have gone through multiple covers. I would prefer the foam backing to be thicker but that's my only real criticism. You should definitely regard them as a consumable - I typically get about 4 - 6 months use before the cover begins to fail. Easy to fit and remains firmly in position once the draw cord is secured. I usually fit over the top of my most recent cover to compensate for the thin foam. Unfortunately now only available in a randomly picked pattern so be prepared to be tolerant of the actual pattern received! Obviously, the perfect choice for a Brabantia board - recommended.

Neat and effective
I bought this at the same time as buying an upgraded iron (Phillips Azur GC4890/02) thinking "What's the point in having a great car, but putting my cheap old tyres on it?" I'm convinced this cover is 30% of the reason why I can now iron twice as fast. It went on really easily - I turned my ironing board upside down and fitted it on the floor, this made life much more stable during fitting. Neat drawstring as per your usual ironing board, but the hem is well designed to reduce friction so almost all your draw-string effort goes into tightening the cover. It also comes with a strong rubber band and 2 hooks thingy which you fit after tying up the drawstring. This added extra tension to the drawstring and keeps the cover tight in the middle of the board, leaving no room for slipping about. The cover is quite "tacky" on the top, obviously it's not actually sticky, but you can feel your shirts gripping onto it and this makes life a LOT easier during positioning and ironing. I no longer need three hands to place the shirt collar near the edge of the board, or feel that I have to clamp it in place with the iron. The silver finish, and neat Brabantia logo sewn into the non-pointy end of the board look great, and function is excellent. For only a tenner, this item is FAR superior to the previous cover I had which cost about £6. Money well spent.

Excellent Quality Ironing Board Cover
This is a bit of an expensive ironing board cover, but it is made of exceptional quality, and once you get working with it, you can easily see the level of craftsmanship put into it. This is not a run-of-the-mill cover that you'll see in retail stores, but is rather an extremely well designed cover that should last a very long time while helping improve the ironing process. The cover is made of a semi-reflective outer surface with a substrate beneath it to give the cover a bit of body. The outer layer is designed to efficiently reflect the heat of the iron while also making the smoothness of the surface nice for sliding both the iron and fabric across it. The cover affixes to the board by use of a nylon string that runs around the perimeter of the cover. You simply lay the cover over the board, then gently pull the string until the entire cover is taught. You then use a supplied clasp to secure the strings in a taught position, and then use the supplied rubber strap to further secure the center of the the cover. It's not difficult at all, and results in a nice fit. You just have to make sure you are ordering the correct size for your board (I measured mine with a tape measure and then selected the model with the appropriate size for my board). One thing that you need to be aware of is that this cover is not sufficient to be used on its own. It is too thin and has insufficient padding to work alone. You will need to use a felt or similar pad beneath this cover. If you need a new one, Brabantia also makes a really great quality viscose pad that is specifically designed to work in concert with this cover. I would be tempted to give this four stars because the price is a bit high (especially when you add in the pad, if you need a new one), but the quality and performance of this item make it a five star rating in my thinking. (I had the same feelings for the pad, as well, and came to the same conclusion). Highly recommended.

Poor Quality
Think of razor blades. You buy the razor and then have to keep buying razor blades. The same with this Brabantia ironing board cover. I do not excessively iron (just for a couple not a family) and only about two items per week are on linen (very hot) temperature. You can see the deterioration in this product after one month of use. Look closely. I buy replacements at about one per month because I cannot find anything that lasts. Since the material science for this is sufficiently advanced, I conclude that developing products "Designed for Failing" is a strategic choice by Brabantia.
