Best of the Joy of Painting with Bob Ross: America's Favouite Art Instructor

So why did I buy this book.. I came across Bob Ross on YouTube about a year or so ago, at which point I realised that this was the guy I used to watch on tv when I was a kid. As I watched more videos I became mesmerised by his talent and his incredibly relaxing voice. I could happily watch these videos all day. Anyway, I decided that I wanted to do a “deep dive” into Bobs painting technique so I purchased this book as a starting point. There is a lot of information here, including details about the paint and brushes you will need. The book then goes on to step by step tutorials. Unfortunately, the book is in black & white, so I would use it in conjunction with a matching video online. A good value and recommended book. Remember, You don’t make mistakes, just happy little accidents.

Good comprehensive way to learn the Bob Ross wet on wet techniques step by step. This book explains in detail how to use the brushes and palette knives, mix paints and their application and how to prepare your canvass.

Lovely book than took a little longer than expected to be delivered. My first reaction was of disappointment that there was a lack of colour in the instructions but that was unimportant to me as I read more. I am a very inexperienced artist and now find so must wonderful information included.

Excellent book, perfect companion to the fantastic shows! Step by step instructions and pictures and full colour full page pictures of each of the 50 plus paintings covered.

Package arrived promptly . The book is as described . The pictures and description of the painting process are clear and encouraging to attempt to try this method . A nice book which I am well pleased with for the cost.

Excellent instructions with easy to follow guides. I think it is one of his best books

I really like this book the main picture is in colour but the little pictures for you to follow are in black and white. So easy to progress to making up your own pictures once you have followed a couple of Bob ross demonstrated illustrations gives you the confidence to have a go and paint

Well packed. A nice book and each one of the Bob Ross's sixty paintings has detailed explanations of how to draw with words and black and white illustrations. 😊

as said befor good to bye with the dvd of bob ross of how to paint to any one out there look at the amzon site for best byes on painting and dvds of music i have sent to people for bithdays as thay make good presents and always good remarks come back ok cheers mike amzon fan

彼の作品が見たくて中古で購入しました。 沢山の作品と描き方(コマ撮り＋要点＋英語で)がのっている作品テキスト集です。見ているだけで楽しいです。基本の描き方は始めに書かれているのですが、そこに前所有者の和訳の書き込みがありました。説明にはありませんでしたので－★にしましたが、この本の内容はとても良い。

Very instructive. However, I would have preferred if all the explanatory pictures where also in colour rather than black and white. For this reason I will now only purchase de DVDs.
