Because I'm Yours: A Brother's Best Friend Mafia Romance (Sins & Deceit)

Ok so…
I could not wait for this book to be released, I’ve read the prior books in the series and really became obsessed with the crew and their stories. I gotta say though, I was well over 20% into the book and I was struggling to stay in it. It dragged and was just boring. The inner monologue was excruciatingly long and nothing really happened…like nothing. This is very clearly a book in an ongoing series and yes you could jump and just read this one as a standalone, however can we not spend a quarter of the book just going over everything and nothing. The story would have been so much better had we had that time seeing the actually build their relationship instead of like the 2 random hookup’s them bam he is in love….come on. And then ending was so rushed and we really just wanted to have a wedding and maybe some babies, it felt like a HFN not a HEA.Overall I’d rate it a 3.5 the spice was maybe 1 🌶️ if that. And I’m so mad cause I love me some Rocco. I wanted so much better and more for him. The inner monologue and slow slow start wasted far too much real estate in this book.

Book 4
I am so happy this book lived up to my hopes because book 3 had me worried. I should say I've been waiting for what seemed like forever for Rocco's book. Yes it's brother's sister trope but we learn a little more about the hunter Rocco Marchetti ex military present day equalizer. Nora is the typical mafia princess being used as a pawn for more power. Which makes this relationship even more 'dangerous'. It felt like the fall out from the wedding was too easy so I'm guessing book 5 will be where all the action will be.CN: torture/mutilation, stalking, rape (father rapes his daughter), domestic violence (discussed and on page), gaslighting, death of a parent, murder,

4.5 stars for Rocco and that mouth of his!
You know when you read books from a series and each one you say, "this is my favorite"? Or maybe you say, "this hero/heroine is my favorite" and tops the previous one? This is what I've thought of each book in the 'Sins and Deceit' aka 'Because' series from Claire Contreras. Because I'm Yours just may be my favorite. Rocco and his dang mouth sold me!From beginning to end, this book hooks you and keeps you on the edge of your seat.An arranged marriage. A childhood crush. Siblings best friend. Forced Proximity. Forbidden romance. All mixed in with an action-packed mafia romance that kept me glued to its pages right from the get go. I never wanted to put this book down.Lenora is set to marry an older man who is looking for a submissive wife that he can keep under his thumb. Her father has arranged this marriage to become more powerful and Lenora has to follow through for the family. She didn't ask for this and wants a real love. A love that makes your lover obsessed over you like she has seen happening around her. She does have someone she is attracted to, but she could never go there because he's her brother's best friend. Well, that and the fact that she is getting married sooner rather than later.Rocco is 'the fixer' in the family. He keeps his 'job' within the family very separate from his everyday life. He has to. Otherwise his world would turn dark. He has never been one to think he can have a serious relationship like his friends/family around him. That doesn't interest him. He just wants to run his new legit bar. But someone keeps catching his eye. Someone that was always there, but has been forbidden. And when that someone starts to play with him and ask for him to show her what he is made of, it becomes increasingly difficult to hold back."Don't do that again, unless you want me to spread your legs and f.... the virtue out of you."Well, dang it did Rocco and that mouth of his just whip me right into shape. He's bad, he's sexy and he knows how to satisfy a woman. The chemistry between him and Nora was fire! And the banter between not only them but the supporting characters was perfection. They all added their element to this journey and I loved every minute of it. This story was much more violent than the previous books, but also kept you intrigued and glued to the pages. We got some answers to a past that put some of these characters into an uncomfortable situation, but that is the life of the mafia. This book is definitely for the mafia lovers that love the romantic suspense and don't mind some bloodshed. Great cast of characters. Dang hot scenes. And a series that I can't get enough of. I loved every second of it and want more more more!!

Fighting the Odds
The odds were stacked against mafia princess, Lenora, and mafia enforcer, Rocco, from ever becoming a couple, but love finds a way. She crushed on her brother's best friend when she was younger but knew her mafia boss father would never approve. Now, meeting again years later, her father's arranged a marriage to a man she doesn't love. Although she's resigned to the fact, Lenora decides she wants one night with Rocco. Meanwhile, in the overarching storyline in this series, Rocco and his friends make progress in their quest to avenge the murders of their mothers several years ago. This is the second book in the series that I've read, and I still wish the author would provide a few more details of past events and relationships to provide more clarity of the dynamics to better understand what's happening in the present. I really liked seeing more of Rocco's detective brother, Mikey, who provided some necessary perspective to Rocco's character. I hope we'll get his story as well as Dean's!

Rocco and Lenora
A brother’s best friend romance featuring Lenora and Rocco. Lenora has had a crush on Rocco since she was a teenager, and when she finally sees him again almost a decade later, the crush transforms into a serious case of lust. These two definitely had a lot of passion. I loved how easily Rocco slipped into the secretive, possessive boyfriend role. Nora certainly went through it in this book. But I’m glad she finally had someone in her corner who would actually fight for her.
