How deep is the drip tray?

About 5mm. I am not using it because water ends up stagnating as there is no drainage spout.

Are the measurements taken from the top, or from the bottom, where it's smaller? I need it to fit a space 41x35cm.

The very bottom of the drip tray (measured upside down) is 39.6 x 32cmThe top lip of the drip tray is 36.2 x 44cmThe very top of the draining rack part measures 37 x 45.5cm

I have 10.5 in squarish plates, would they fit into this rack? I have a chrome one at present which will accommodate them, but this has gone rusty.
