FIIO FW5 In-Ear Wireless Earphones

As others have said you are getting quality over quantity - therefore i recommend you use them with a quality codec - aptX sounds really good but if you install the new firmware from FiiO - need to search as it’s still in beta release - you can use LDAC which is a noticeable step up.Before buying these I tried a whole slew of TWS Bluetooth headphones and didn’t like the sound of any of them.Only negative is that when I tried to get the LHDC codec to work, I couldn’t find a way without spending a fortune on a new DAP.However now that I have LDAC working with my Shanling M3X, it is almost as good as a cabled IEM. A seriously underrated piece of kit.

These pricey earbuds are not audiophile. Bass are not separated and not deep. Basically there are no bass at all. Highs are messy . You can only enjoy rich mid-range and power. Loudness here is more than enough. App with Android works well.

The item was from a seller on Amazon warehouse. I don't no what quality control, if any they use as the item has I believe had a faulty battery loosing charge quickly, see attached photos.The actual product sound was excellent despite this.Returned the item and waiting on my refund.

I bought these and as a novice "audiophile", I loved that a brand of high-end audio was in the wireless game. The review above is correct, the app didn't work which is how you control the main volume on the ear buds (volume gain) and then is is normally adjusted with your device or the side of the buds which have actual buttons. I was ready to return after not being able to hear them. Sounded about 30% volume. 4 days passed and FiiO finally got back to me when I was ready to box them up. They told me to do what I have already done which was install the FiiO app (which initially did not work). I installed it again and it must have had the new update because it connected right away. It is much, much louder now and I keep it about 3 notches from 100%. Very listenable and some audio or video is real loud (depending on quality).Once you get them working, they are a great sound and does remind me of IEM sound and separation. Not exactly but pretty close for wireless. I will keep using them for a few weeks and see.UPDATE: 1/09/2023Incredible, insanely incredible. I am so glad I kept these IEM's (that's what these are). FiiO asked me to download the app when it wouldn't connect, which I have done several times. I did that and to my surprise, it was updated and worked perfectly. With total control, volume adjustment, 10 band EQ and more. The only issue I am having is with the app, my "user" EQ settings will not save but I will play around with it more. They have reset and will go to flat every time. These are the best I have ever heard and I have about 15 wireless pairs. These might even hang with a few of my mid level IEM's. With the app working, the volume goes higher than I need. I am so happy with these and may order another pair.

Zunächst zu den Nachteilen: Das Case wirkt eher "günstig". An die Tasten muss man sich gewöhnen, das funktioniert bei der Konkurrenz etwas "flüssiger". Es gibt kein ANC. Das Design ist Geschmackssache, richtig "hübsch" finde ich sie nicht... Man muss das aber in Relation zum Preis sehen, denn die Vorteile überwiegen die Nachteile bei Weitem! Eigentlich sollten dem geneigten Hörer zwei Worte reichen:parametrischer Equalizer! (Ich kann das gar nicht genug loben, danke, danke, danke!!!)Und dann funktioniert das Ganze in der App auch noch einwandfrei und ist gut zu bedienen. Bereits "out-of-the-box" ist der Klang schon ziemlich gut, relativ neutral mit ganz leichter Betonung im Hochton. Mit ein paar Anpassungen schafft man sich dann einen fast perfekten Klang. Detailreichtum, Auflösung, präzise Bässe, soundstage - das ist schon ziemlich beeidruckend. Der Tragekomfort ist sehr gut, insgesamt gibt es 6 verschiedene Paare an Ohrpassstücken.Also Fiio - verpasst den FW5 noch ANC und einen Transparenzmodus und die ganzen bis 300 € teuren "high-end" Stöpsel der Konkurrenz, die ich teilweise auch getestet habe können einpacken!

These headphones hate connecting to anything. They hate connecting to my phone, they hate connecting to each other, they ESPECIALLY hate connecting to the app. The case is flimsy and because the charging pins corrode easily the headphones don't always charge when you put them in there. The background hiss is pretty bad. The sound is fine but it's not worth the hassle, these were supposed to be my new everyday earbuds but they are now just backups sitting in my drawer in case of emergency

Amazing sound but in the end were useless as they kept dropping out even after firmware updates. Additionally, The app is terrible…Half of it was still in Chinese—even after updating to the latest version.
