Gastrock S6-Green Cold Light Stick, Unisex Adult, Green, One Size

Gives of a very good light, useful for keeping track of where everyone is at night, finding your way back to a campsite etc. Would be good for attracting attention in emergencies. Just about enough range to use as a torch so you don't trip over stuff, but wouldn't want to over-emphasise this as you can only see a metre or two in front of you. Extremely bright when cracked, decent light for at least 9 hours, but not nearly as good after the advertised 12, hence the 4-star rating. Shouldn't be too much of an issue for most uses though.

This a bright and use it when I went camping and it was so good and when I went on a night hike with some friends we all had one on are bags so we did not get lost it worked well. I have also put the on a kayak and gone for a night kayaking not anywhere amazing but it worked well and we could all see each other. (I have seen my friends do this on some strong white water.)Came in a nice little box and they are all packaged as shown.

A bit on the expensive side but an OK product for use with Mountain Rescue. Other colours would be good and numbers of say 50 with a discount for 'bulk buying' and for MR would be nice

I ordered 10 of these, so that I could keep some in my car, rucksack, etc for emergencies. I opted for green as, in my experience, it tends to be the colour with the greatest light output.First impressions were good; the sticks had a long expiry date (2018), and the presence of a NATO Stock Number (NSN) on the packaging confirms that the "Military and Industrial Grade" claim is not an empty boast. The sticks themselves are well made, with a strong, gated clip for easy attachment to clothing and equipment without resorting to cord (although there is also a closed eyelet too if you prefer). They also require a good amount of force to activate, so I'm happy that they can be stored in a rucksack pocket without fear of accidental activation.I tested one for brightness and time of light output I found the following;- On activation; they appear brighter than cheaper 12 hour sticks, giving a good light that is strong enough to see well and carry out meaningful activity.- 1-3 hours; no noticeable decrease in light output.- 3-6 hours; noticeable drop in light output, but still usable as effective light source, even at 6 hour point.- 6-9 hours; light output continuing to decrease. Could be used as light source to see by, but with greatly reduced range. Still effective as a marker.- 9-12 hours; Quite dull now. Not really all that useful as light source, but could still work as a marker.Conclusion; a worthwhile purchase that gives a decent light over a useful length of time.

Wasn't sure about this product as no pack size is mentioned. The Q&A section answers the question, saying they are 10 packs. But that is not true. It is a single item.I would advise ordering from a different one that states pick size in name. 10 packs are in the same kind of price range.

Shipping was fast and i received them a day after ordering (UK)10 individually packaged light sticks with instructions written on their sides.Simply snap once then shake hard, the glow is instantaneous and bright enough to light up a dark room/corridor enough so that you can see your surroundings. The intense glow is best for the first 3 or so hours which then gradually fades over time.12 hours after the glow is just strong enough to read a map/writing when held next to it.Living in the country allowed me to use these outside at night. They can be spotted very easily in the dark from far away so are a good signalling tool, the glow can also be concealed behind 2 layers of thick clothing if you don't want to draw unwanted attention.The small carabiner style clip is also quite sturdy and its design allows it to be tugged downwards without it coming undone.Great product! will be buying more in the future.

got 10 green stickstested one as followsDay1 at 830pm, very bright,on Day2 at 630am it was still glowing, though not as bright but still useful,(by 11pm on day 2 surprised it was still glowing - i.e. you could see it in the dark but it wouldn't be much use for luminating. so it's much better than expected)

Seem to be really bright for about the first minute or so then fairly useless. Was trying to use them at Halloween but turned out the moon was brighter despite being 240,000 miles away. Actually, at 10 o'clock at night, even the sun was brighter than these light sticks.
