Perfect e drums set up/feels better than my real drum kit/can play loud at night in headphones
I am soooooo frickin happy cause i made an investment and got rewarded with top quality in feel, response and sound with this electronic V drum kit.(Mesh heads..unbelievably amazing).... Funny thing is, this set up can be heard and used so many different ways and yet as i practice and learn every night, I only use one setting which is Stage Arena (huge real acoustic drums sound).... and then I press the click metronome button to low BPM speed or a higher BPM speed depending on my mood. I knew what I was getting in the initial purchase= TD-17KVX Roland V mesh drums, digital brain, compact rack, smart cymbals, drum sticks and a power chord ($2100) ....... I also knew what i would have to get extra to complete the set up/experience.... so there were no surprises. Let me tell you what is extra in my pic/set up.......these are mid to high range cost recommendations for the completion.....1) My V Moda headphones are a top quality brand and I use them also for DJing and music production with Logic.($350 sold separately) Some people will prefer a monitor, i don't need that right now cause I don't want to be heard learning late at night. Moving forward, Hi hat stand is 3000 series from Drum Workshop brand.($150 sold separately.) Single kick pedal is also DW 3000 series ($150 sold separately) ..and now your thinking... whoa man this is all gettin kind of expensive........Guess what , good stuff is pricey and yet I'm still keeping you out of the super high end hot red levels of pricing.... Speaking of red, don't go gettin cheap on yourself at this point cause the Roc N Soc Nitro drum throne/seat is a much needed comfort and style standard...nitogen gas shock absorber w/easy click height adjuster($225 sold separately) Don't spend $2100 on the main part and then go cheap on the extras. You ask.....Why am I going to such an extreme detailed explanation of what you need for electronic musical drum bliss? Well cause a musician I admire did the same for me and now I am eternally grateful. Now you can procrastinate less, and buy with confidence! If you are trying to be serious about drumming don't cut yourself short with lesser quality. Total investment $3000 ...How does does it feel drumming every night? PRICELESS!!!!!! Oh and one last important thing if you set up on a hard wood surface....get you some ugly cushion mats(lol) at Home Depot for $20 each for under the pedals. Just because I'm going through headphones doesn't mean all the foot banging doesn't get loud and vibrational...Ok, your welcome.... Peace.

Great set of drums and this kit comes with the kick pad and a comfortable throne!
This kit comes with everything you need to start drumming right out of the box except the kick pedal(s). The module wiring allows for one extra added crash cymbal.I recommend the DW2000's double kick pedals for that. I also recommend ordering a set of Vic Firth 5a drumsticks. The ones that come with the kit will lose the nylon tips fast, popping off like popcorn! The DW2000's give a GREAT sound to the kick pad, will last a very long time and are very responsive!Roland is the top brand for v drums, you can't go wrong with this setup. However, if you do want more drums, you will want a different module. Everything is upgradable and you can easily tune each drum to be what you want it to be!Customer service is also great should you have any issues! Highly recommended!P.S. If you have a cat or cats, you will want to make covers for the mesh pads out of aluminum foil. They do not like the noise of foil and it will keep them off the drum set! I would imagine the mesh would feel great against their claws and you want to protect your mesh heads.Kit comes with 3 toms, 2 cymbals, 1 kick pad, a snare, the module, a throne, 3 pairs of sticks (but like I mentioned, you will want to order a GOOD pair and Vic Firth 3a's are great) and a drum key.I recommend using Audacity for recording as it is completely free and you can record a beat, save it and send it to your phone to share within minutes! You will need to buy a USB A to USB B make cord to connect to computer, same cord a printer uses, so if you have a printer cable laying around you're set.I hope this review covers any questions or concerns anyone may have about this kit. Now, ROCK ON!

Great drums - some strange packing
There was some initial panic when it seemed that the bundle was missing a tom pad. Also, the hi-hat pad was not boxed, but placed loosely in the bundle box. Before unboxing any components, I noticed that the snare pad box appeared to have been re-taped. It so happens the missing tom pad had been packed in the snare box along with the snare. The other two tom pads were individually boxed. So, whether or not Roland did this, or the dealer, this panic could be avoided if an attention-getting notice of this had been placed in the bundle box.Others have complained that the bundle does not include the kick and hi-hat pedal, but this is clearly stated in the description and was anticipated. As for the drums themselves, they perform beautifully. I've given them a workout for several days with no problems. These replace an older Roland set. The larger pads are much nicer and using my own hi-hat stand and pedal is much better than the old electronic pedal.
