Palm Z22 Handheld PDA

I have an old paper organiser folder and it is a mess and it needed more filo pages to put them in the folder and update the details by hand, so I thought to myself "no" as I want to keep up with the technology. After having read all the reviews, I bought a Palm Z22 last week and just got it yesterday and I am so impressed with this little machine.The calender is easy to use, clear and can be easily synchronised with a PC. Records can be colour coded by type (eg business, personal etc) and there is plenty of space for entering the appointment details. The Z22 also has programmes for managing contacts, expenses, writing memo's and making notes in your own handwriting and more.. Yes it's true you cannot download music or send e-mails, but I don't need them as I already have them on my laptop and my mobile phone. I carry it everywhere with me and fit in my handbag. If you want an easy to use PDA, this is the one for you.

Amazon told me to return itto Layger and sent me and form and address to send to them.I did this and Layger said they had received it. To date I am awaiting repayment

It died after 9 months, by which point you need to buy another to get at your data - once they've got you hooked......

I'm a little disappointed. It's a bit too basic for me.

I bought this item specifically for writing up holiday journals when I am away instead of scribbling notes on to a piece of paper and transcribing them on to the computer when I get home. I write these up in Memos. I must say, this PDA performs this task admirably as you just have to plug it into your computer and synchronise and all your information is backed up.I also find other things on it very useful. For example, I can quickly write in a quick reminder in Notepad, and I also use the Calendar function to list all my appointments. Also, I use Memos for my shopping list. Brilliant! As I get the item I can just delete it from the list.There is also a Contacts feature which I haven't got round to using yet, but will do. It has a useful calculator and one or two games to keep me amused on a long journey. There are other features, like Photos, that I haven't used.All in all, I find it ideal for my specific needs and am very glad I bought it.

A convenient sized PDA but not having a cover made it vunerable to scrathes and turning itself on.The plastic pointer was too big and the querty was too small. I resorted to using a blunted cocktail stick as a pointer. After too short a time the touch screen has given up the ghost and I have bbeen able to find a good second hand Sharp Personal organiser

I had this item for only two days as it refused to function after only two hours of use. Please see my review of this item in the sellers review (Antony). He was an honourable man who refunded my money immediately, and sent me a gift because of my disappointment. This seller you can safely purchase from. The Palm Z22 had excellent write-ups, and that made me really want one. For the couple of hours I used it - I liked it!

this was bad before the smartphone revolution, i forgot i had even bought it. can't imagine paying £70 for something like this again !

Mon ancien PDA me lâchant, j'ai dû en changer en catastrophe : quelle chance finalement : facile à comprendre et à manipuler, parfait dans les programmes qu'il propose. Seules restrictions : je n'ai pas encore trouvé comment afficher dès l'ouverture les rendez-vous du jour, les couleurs sont plutôt tristouilles et surtout l'écran est vraiment petit.Mais comment concevoir un tout petit pda avec un très grand écran ???

Ein schönes kleines Ding, der Neue von Palm. Er hat alles was ein elektronisches Notizbuch braucht: Adressverwaltung, Kalender, Termine mit Alarm, Memos, Aufgaben, Notizen, Rechner und als besonderen Gag eine Einkaufs-/Kostenliste und wer will, kann sogar ein paar Bildchen (von den oder der 'Kleinen') draufladen und vorzeigen oder mit dem Kontakt verknüpfen. - Und er hat all das nicht, was ich nicht brauche und was kostet und Speicher und Energie frisst: keine Musik- und Videowiedergabe, kein Riesendisplay, kein Windows, kein GPRS oder was sonst noch alles angesagt ist ...Das einzige was der eine oder andere vermissen könnte, ist die inzwischen obligatorische Bluetooth-Schnittstelle. Ich brauche sie nicht, denn der Z22 hat einen USB-Anschluss (mit Standard Mini-USB) und damit funktioniert die Datensynchronisation einwandfrei.Auch die Handhabung ist logisch und mit der Navigationstaste und den beiden (natürlich frei belegbaren) Wahltasten schnell und einhändig zu bewältigen. Den Stift und Touchscreen brauche ich nur zur Text-Eingabe. Und hier funktioniert die Handschrifterkennung auch ohne großes Training überraschend gut.Das Palm OS ist bewährt und bietet unzählige Programme zum kostenlosen Download oder Kauf, um den kleinen Palm aufzumotzen oder zu ergänzen. Natürlich funktioniert, ob seiner eingeschränkten Funktionen, nicht alles was am Markt ist. Aber z.B. das eine oder andere Spielchen (ach ja, da ist natürlich auch eines drauf!), Feiertage-Import, eine andere umfangreichere Agenda (ist eigentlich gar nicht nötig...) und anderer netter Gimmick lassen sich ohne weiteres verwenden. Übrigens: die leider standardmäßig aufgespielten Kommerzprogramme 'Addit' und 'Addit Vault' zum Suchen, Testen oder Kaufen neuer Software, können problemlos gelöscht werden.Das Display ist zugegebener Maßen nicht gerade groß und hochauflösend ' aber brauchen Sie das wirklich? Alles ist einwandfrei zu sehen! Alles ist jederzeit gut zu lesen! Und sieht auch noch gut aus! Da bringt das Farbdisplay doch einiges an Klarheit. Zwei unterschiedliche Schriftgrößen, jeweils in schmal oder fett sind einstellbar. Natürlich können unterschiedliche Farbthemen gewählt oder eigene Hintergrundbilder verwendet werden.Der Vorteil eines solchen Displays (dass es eben kein Riesenmonitor ist, der auch mit der Lupe noch begeistert) liegt im wahrsten Sinn des Wortes auf der Hand: Der Z22 ist schön klein und leicht und der eingebaute Akku hält bei normaler Nutzung locker eine Woche. Aufgeladen wird er mit dem mitgelieferten Netzteil über die USB-Buchse. Wenn ich dem Ladesymbol der Batterieanzeige trauen darf, lädt er wohl auch bei einem USB-Anschluss über den PC. Das hat zwei Seiten: Zum einen könnte man auf diesen Weg auch ohne Ladegerät laden, zum anderen wird bei jedem Synchronisationvorgang die Batterie leicht aufgeladen. Dies könnte der Gesamtlebensdauer des Akkus abträglich sein, über die hier natürlich noch nichts gesagt werden kann.Die beigefügte CD enthält einige wenige Zusatzprogramme (z.B. einen eBook-Reader und einen mathematischen Rechner) und natürlich die Palm-Desktop-Software für den PC. Die ist schön, übersichtlich und leicht zu bedienen. Somit hat man auch eine Adress- und Terminverwaltung am PC ohne den Handheld, bzw. kann größere Datenmengen bequem am PC eingeben und dann auf den Palm übertragen. Über die Outlook-Synchronisation kann ich nichts sagen, da ich Outlook nicht verwende.Jetzt könnte man einwenden, dass all das ein modernes Super-Handy auch kann. Das kann ich nicht beurteilen. Ich jedenfalls nutze meine Handy als das was es eigentlich ist: ein Mobil-Telefon. Ich möchte es nicht jeden zweiten Tag ' wegen seines Riesenmonitors und seiner unüberschaubaren Funktionsvielfalt ' am Ladegerät hängen haben und somit Mobilität verlieren... Aber das muss jeder selbst entscheiden, wirklich sparen lässt sich dabei aber sicher nichts. Mir ist ein eigener, leicht bedienbarer und überschaubarer kleiner PDA jedenfalls lieber - so einer wie der Z22.Fazit:Die o.g. Beschreibung des Anbieters für den Z22 stimmt! Ein praktischer kleiner Begleiter, der Papier in Form von Adressbuch, Terminkalender, Zettelchen u.ä. mehr als ersetzt. Love it but it defaults to 2005 and I often post them can’t find it

Cette machine est la plus belle en premier prix de chez Palm que j'ai utilisé.
