Crème Strawberry Creams 1 Kg

These were in a plastic tub, not a box as shown in the picture. I've eaten five pieces. They are not creams. They are hard fondant coated in plain chocolate but three of the five pieces were greatly misshaped and the chocolate was white coated as if subjected to heat and melted then chilled again! It looks unsavoury. The others were completely fine, which makes me think this is a mix of two boxes, one spoilt by heat and one good box, mixed together to probably make two mixed boxes. Thus not having to throw the spoilt ones away and losing money on! I might be wrong, it depends on how many others are similarly spoilt, as it would be difficult for some to be perfectly OK in the same box as others heat affected if not mixed AFTER the spoiling! I love coffee flavoured chocs but I don't think I'd buy these again!!Further comment: Having eaten more I'd say about half are spoiled ie melted and misshaped. They are all mixed together therefore clearly not just a spoiled pack as it would be impossible for some to suffer heat damage whilst others around them are perfect. I'm just glad I didn't buy these as a gift for someone!!

Have purchased these on several occasions and enjoyed. Unfortunately this time very inferior product. Well within date however not only has the chocolate bloomed( would not been a problem to be honest) but are hard and taste funny hence totally inedible. Went through normal procedures and according to Amazon non returnable. Going into bin and will certainly never buy again.Poor show Amazon

I bought this brand of fondant filled chocolates last year in different flavours, they were so delicious and wrapped in foil meant I could scatter them on the Christmas dinner table for everyone to nibble whenever they liked. Opened this year's coffee creams and not dissapointed, only had one to try and have put the rest away for Christmas again. The coffee flavour is not too overpowering and the dark chocolate coating is not bitter. They arrive in a sealed plastic tub with lid and have a best by date of Sept 2021. So good to stock up now instead of chancing them selling out.

These are not "Creme" brand violet cremes at all (as indicated at the top of the page, and further down), but Whitaker's (mentioned only in the text further down the page, contradicting the brand name shown). While Whitaker's violet cremes are very nice, they are clearly not what was received by BarbaraW in May of this year, as she described them as being of firm texture, not creamy (as are Whitaker's), but more like Beech's, something similar to which were what I was expecting to receive. In addition, the unit price for the 1kg tub is greater than that for 150g boxes that are also available, which is not what would be expected for a bulk purchase. I suspect that someone may have edited the page since May, but made a shoddy job of it. It is difficult, otherwise, to see how the contradictions within the page would have occurred.

I am a big fan of Whitakers Coffee Creams, I usually buy 150g boxes but decided to buy 1kg box because they were a lot cheaper. Unfortunately there is very little coffee taste in the big box to the point where I wonder if these are seconds. I will not buy a big box again, I will go for the smaller boxes where the flavour is a lot more intense.

I have always LOVED coffee creams ... so i bought these as a Christmas pressie for myself!Not being able to wait for Crimbo, late last night i sneaked one - the "cream" seemed quite dry. Also, there wasn't much of a coffee flavour. Maybe i had found the "one bad apple". So i tried another. Exactly the same! I have now tried five or six and they are all the same - rather dry and sadly lacking much flavour. Maybe i was unlucky and got old stock but compared to the Beech's coffee creams i have from last Christmas, these are pretty poor and i would certainly not buy them again. Don't get me wrong, i'm an addict, so they'll still get eaten - i just won't enjoy them as much. :_(

I went looking for artificial sweeteners on the ingredients because of the after taste, but there are none. However glucose syrup is on as well as the sugar. I don't know why there is an aftertaste because they are rather nice but unfortunately I find them also too sweet. nice initial flavour. You just cannot explain it in words lol. Far too much sweetening in there is something I think though.

As another poster has commented, the coffee cream part is quite dry. It's more like solid icing sugar than cream. I had hoped for a centre similar in texture to the after 8 mint cream but was disappointed to find you could just snap these in half.I was going to get the violet and orange versions but I think I'll give them a miss.Having said that, these are ok and you get plenty of them, it's just that they are a bit dried out.Maybe I also got an old batch.
