EXL120 Nickel Wound Electric Guitar Strings, Super Light, 9-42

The D'Addario EXL120 Super Light 9 to 42 strings were an instant hit. My kid tried them and immediately said they feel completely different from the standard Fender stock strings. The lighter gauge makes bends easier, the feel is smoother, and the guitar suddenly became way more fun to play. They sound bright and lively, and the lower tension is perfect for beginners or anyone who likes an effortless feel. Zero complaints, just a very happy young guitarist who now thinks his guitar plays like a dream. Great strings, great value, and a simple upgrade that made a big difference.

I’ve heard nothing but good reviews about the brand, so decided to pick up these strings for my guitar. No problem re-stringing it. But when it came time to tuning my guitar, that’s when the issues arrived. Snapped the high E, and even before that happened it was still too low to even reach the note. Not sure if this is product fault, or my own fault. Will be ordering more and trying again soon.

Was surprised to find d'addarios to be this cheap!! Moved from ernie ball RPS 9's to these 9's. They withstand all types of genres, from fast metal solos to funk strumming. These strings last and keep tone well. Will be my go-to strings now.

Could get a set of Ernie Ball .009s for love nor money (curse you all, Lockdown Guitar Learners!!!), so picked these up for what I thought would be a stopgap. Initially hated the lack of the strings being in their own individual envelope which I have become accustomed to, but once I saw and learned the ball-end colour coding system it was a doddle. I think these strings somewhat hold the tune a little longer than the Ernie Balls, and have a more pleasant ring across the non-wound G B and E strings, but I'm no master musician so don't take my word as gospel. Many guitarists are hard to embrace new things as we find a groove and stick to it, but via this happy accident I may well have to re-evaluate other aspects of my set-up!

Bought these to replace the strings on my old unbranded electric guitar to give it some new life. Does everything they should... did tarnish a little quicker than I would have liked on the smaller strings but overall I am happy with these no complaints.

D'adario simply make the best tone and they seem to very rarely snap even when taking some hammer and bend, the 9s and 9.5s are great for a variety of styles They still represent value for money, i play Ibanez guitars and these are just my go to string

i change my strings alot and as a lead guitarist my hands sweat a lot also found these strings did not wear as fast as others do these are a great 8 find

Works as it should!

I've been using these strings since 1978 - they sound great, last a long time, easy to bend, feel great under the fingers. These are the ones to get. Great price too!
