Impressive Low Cost Meter For Just About Anyone
No, it is not industrial quality. And yes, it probably is not something a professional would use for day to day applications. But it's a great economical, (and pretty sophisticated ) little meter that can handle the basic tasks of a homeowner with ease. Let's define what I mean by that last sentence before going on, for all you "Pros" out there: checking to see if an outlet has power or not. Making sure that you turned off the right breaker. Checking for continuity of wires, say going to and from your speakers to an audio source. Is your laptop broken or is the power brick bad? Is it the fuse or is something wrong? There are hundreds of uses for something like this, and the features of this particular economical meter take the guesswork out of setup/use.The Non contact voltage detector on this unit works better than any I have previously used. A great safety feature that can be used by anyone. It lets you know as you approach a dangerous voltage without having to use probes. All other functions are completely automatic, so no more worries about the wrong function or the wrong range or having leads plugged into the wrong location. It does the work for you. Accuracy on voltages compares well to my other meters. The only thing I found about it that I didn't like is it's a bit quirky to get the backlit display turned on without messing with the built- in flashlight; both are good features, but controlled by the same button. One more issue which some others addressed; it does not have current measuring capabilities. And that's a good thing for the average homeowner because attempting to measure current is how the occasional users blow up meters. Period. This is a very nice meter for the money, and way, way above the little 5 dollar ones still being sold or given away; all of which are built with 30+ year old technology. If you are into 480 3 phase, a licensed electrician, or you're a lineman for the county, then keep looking.

Good and Cheap
I picked up this multimeter for a little project I am doing that needed a bit more precision than my cheap dollar store multimeter (which surprisingly worked well for what it was). I decided I wanted something that didn’t require me turning dials and determining which associated metric was needed to be read so this device was perfect because it offered automatic detection.I decided to test it in a couple ways. I tried the auto sensor to test if current was running through various outlets, switches, and sockets. It picked up current on most of my switches, but this was over the plate so it is understandable if it didn’t detect anything. For power outlets it picked up current on all but one, which it detected a little bit but that outlet also had the protectors in it. And for the sockets it picked it up right away. I also held it to the lights and if I flipped the switch it would detect when it was off or on.I tested the multimeter on various batteries and it picked up the correct value right away.I also used this on a device I made that contained 5k potentiometers . It automatically went in ohm mode and accurately measured the pots, even identifying that while some were in the margin of error were not exactly 5k.Overall this device was perfect. It was easy to operate and read. It even had a backlit screen. It is small and comes with a nice case that holds its cables. It even had a little cover that slips over so that it is kept safe from bumps. Perhaps it provides for insulation just in case. The manual is nice too and comes in various languages. For 10 bucks this is worth it.

Absolutely easy to use and reasonably price for the wallet.
I recently purchased the TESMEN TM-510 Digital Multimeter, and I have been extremely impressed with its performance and features. The 4000 counts display provides clear and accurate readings, making it easy to measure various electrical parameters with precision. One of the standout features of this multimeter is its smart measurement capabilities. The auto-ranging function allows the multimeter to automatically select the appropriate range for the measurement being taken, saving time and ensuring accurate results. This feature is especially helpful for beginners or those who may not be familiar with manual ranging. I also appreciate the build quality of the TESMEN. It feels sturdy and durable, making it suitable for both professional and DIY use. The ergonomic design and easy-to-read display make it comfortable to use for extended periods. Overall, I highly recommend this multimeter to anyone in need of a reliable and versatile tool for electrical measurements. Its smart features, auto-ranging function, and durable construction make it a valuable addition to any toolbox, especially mine.

Great for novices & general use
Comes in reclosable box and zippered storage case. The zippered case has a pocket to store the leads. I was surprised it came with 2 Duracell AAA batteries instead of the usual generic ones.I tested the NCV function near a plug socket and worked great show an H for high voltage. Also used it with leads on the socket and worked fine. Tested an 1.5V AA battery with it and displayed 1.47 so seemed accurate. The multimeter has a rubbery or silicone removable outer casing to help protect it. It's lightweight and easy to use. You can press a button to backlight the screen or turn on a small LED light on the back.CONS: Has one of those tiny screws to hold on battery compartment cover. Not so convenient to unscrew as you need a screwdriver small enough and I can see the screw dropping and getting lost. Would have preferred LED light on top of device so easier to aim the light and read in the dark. Now realize I would have preferred a non-automatic multimeter where I could select the function, but that's my fault.Overall good multimeter and the automatic function is probably great for basic home user.
