I wasn't expecting much for the price... (review for Blade Hawks Double-Sided Alum. Core mouse pad)
As my headline states, I wasn't expecting much for the price. I just needed a hard mousepad to use since I game frequently and my desktop surface has developed an uneven surface (damn you, Ikea and your affordable but ultimately low quality furniture!). I was tired of running into mouse friction during my gaming sessions so I finally caved and bought a new mouse pad.Initially, I got the 3M super-thin mousing surface (the one that you can stick to your desktop and re-stick over and over). Unfortunately, I decided to return it since A) the mousing surface isn't large enough for gaming (I frequently ran into the problem where my mouse would slide off the mouse pad during movements) and B) the texture of the surface isn't very conducive to gaming; it actually has a slightly grippy feel that is probably better for regular mousing activities, but not great if you want super smooth mouse control for gaming.Anyway, this review isn't about the 3M surface, it's about this awesome Blade Hawks pad. After returning the 3M, I bought this pad hoping that it would be adequate enough, but man was I surprised at how good this thing is. Dual sided pad, one with a rougher texture and one that's super smooth. The super smooth one was perfect for what I needed. My mouse glides along with no friction (I also replaced my mouse feet) and I couldn't be happier. Even more ridiculous is the fact that this mouse pad is less than $20. Value *AND* quality all in 1? I expect Amazon or the Seller to raise the price because even at the $20-25 price point I'd be very happy with it.Anyway, I almost never leave Amazon reviews unless I'm unhappy with a product or *really, really* happy with it. This definitely falls into the latter category and I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for more products from Blade Hawks in the future.

Best mouse pad so far
This is currently my main gaming mouse pad even when I own over 10 mouse pads. Design wise, this looks almost the same as the Corsair MM600. It has two sides; a textured surface and a smooth surface, just like the MM600. The size of the Blade Hawks pad is smaller than the MM600, but I wouldn't say that is a negative since it fits much better on my desk. It is a medium sized mouse pad, I wouldn't call it a small size. In performance, it is less slippery than the MM600 on both sides. Textured side, blade hawks has an advantage in overall performance. The side I use most and where the mouse pad shines, the smooth side, is great! the Blade Hawk's smooth side is less jittery than the MM600. It feels like after stopping I can make precise movements easier. This is great for RTS games where you need to make both large sweeping movements and small tiny movements to select individual units. Or for action RPGs like Diablo where you need to move your cursor a lot to move the character and pick up items. Very satisfied with this mouse pad.

Fanastic pad!
I -hate- cloth pads, and pads like this are too few and far between. I had a couple old cheap Rocketfish pads with a similar aluminum construction, but different shape. Those were great too, but I couldn't find them anywhere and had a heck of a time finding another aluminum pad with dual surfaces at a sane price. Not only do I like the shape and size better with this pad, but the feet are better as well. The other pad had 4 feet on each side made of rubber, which eventually started coming off. These feet wrap around the corners, giving them more surface area to stick, and could be much more easily reattached if it ever became necessary. The only worry I had was potential flex in the middle of the pad, as it's supported only at the corners. It does indeed flex, but it hasn't impacted me in any way. The only way I notice it is that it gives it a bit of a cushion-like feel when I wrest my palm on the very bottom of the pad. Using the mouse itself doesn't cause any flex.Just a fantastic pad, and a great price for it.

Great size and rigidity
I have been looking for a moderately sized rigid mousepad for some time to replace my 8 year old Alienware mousepad that came with my old Aurora m9700 that served me well for all these years. Many of the new mouse mats are now all decked out with RGB which I think is a bit overkill. Others seems to be too large and not very rigid. This mouse mat is the perfect size for my computer desk and feels quite premium . I like the Aluminium plating which will last a long time. The graphics are quite subtle with just a green line at the bottom with the Black Hawks branding. I'd prefer a different line color such as Red but it's fine. The price is also quite attractive. You can easily spend twice as much on a 'gaming' mouse pad probably because it's made by a more mainstream gaming company but in the end I doubt they will work any better. My G502 tracks great on this mouse mat and it has more than enough room for gaming mouse movements. Not much else to say about it, but for the price it's probably the best mouse mat you can buy.
