Simple setup, accurate translations! Includes ability to translate when offline
The media could not be loaded. If you are traveling, I highly recommend the Wooask Language Tranlator Device. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I unboxed this device and questioned how a translator device would be beneficial over the plethora of translation apps available on phones today. Let me tell you, this little device provides you with many features you will not find in an app all while providing accurate translations.I opened the box to find everything I needed, including instructions and a usb charging cable. First impression, the translator device looks much like an android smart phone and includes a color touchscreen and simple navigation button on the front of the device and a back facing camera (used to translate test in pictures you take using the device) is located on the back of the device.Following the instructions was simple and the first step was powering on the device. Upon first power up, you will follow on screen prompts to setup and configure your device. During the setup process you are asked to connect to Wi-Fi, update the device (if needed), set your default language, etc.I then took to testing the device, first using the voice translate function. I am semi-fluent in Spanish so I verified that the device could first handle a simple translation “My name is John”, the device quickly translated this to “Mi nombre es John” success! Not only does the device speak the translated phrase out loud, but the text of both your primary and translated phrases display on the color led display. All of this happens almost instantly something most other translation services cannot do (takes longer to translate). I have used the device to translate more complex phrases and have yet to run into any issues. One of the primary reasons I believe this device is superior to apps or web translation services is the fact that you can download multiple languages/dictionaries to the device and continue using the device even when you do not have an internet connection. This is a HUGE benefit when traveling in places with limited or no Wi-Fi connections.Additionally, features like the photo to text translation are very useful when navigating menus or even translating a hand written note. Simply snap a picture and the device quickly translates text, displaying translation on the touch screen. The image translation feature is compatible with 42 languages, but will recognize over 127 languages when using the voice translation feature. This includes dialects of Spanish, Chinese and English. This is a must have for the avid traveler but also is great for learning a new language and gives you the ability to practice new languages. My primary language is English and I have been periodically using the device to practice pronunciation in other languages. I speak and the device quickly reads back my statement in English. It is a great way to learn at your own pace.Lastly item I want to note… the battery on this device lasts a long time! When traveling the last thing I want to worry about is charging another device. The Wooask device will last for over a week if you are only using it sporadically and even when in constant use will last for over 8 hours.Highly recommend this device based on the simple setup, easy to use touch screen display and ability to download languages/translate even when the device is offline/not connected to the internet. This device is a great value considering the number of languages it can translate and features like the photo translation.

Completely stopped working in 60 days!
The unit was working fine until one day... it wasn't. I turned it on and I got a screen with Chinese writing (like the SOURCE CODE) which said TEST FAILED. Now Amazon won't help me and the WOOASK company storefront does not seem to have any customer support for REAL CUSTOMERS. Very upset. $100 wasted.

Faulty upon arrival
Purchased for a visitor from Israel. High hopes dashed when it arrived.Powered on it defaulted to an Asian screen and then would not respond further.Hard hold of the power button (30 seconds) resulted in exactly no change.Looking for troubleshooting help and other issues found no help at all.Due to limited time frame sending it back asking for a refund.Device is worthless if you can’t use it nor find support.

Best out of all of them
This is about the size of an old flip screen phone and unlike the other translators it lets you download the language for offline translation WITHOUT paying for some subscription service or needing an app. It will actually connect to wifi, download language packs offline and allow offline use without extra purchases. Pretty accurate and easy to use. Select the language to translate to and from, press and hold the button and capture what needs to be translated as someone says it. and viola it shows you what they said in your native tongue. You can choose to have it talk to you or be silent. You can translate a picture as well. The battery life could be improved wont lie on that. you'll need to charge it like you would a cell phone -- daily. I suggest turning it off when you don't need it because it does drain battery quickly. Lets say its 90% charged and u turn it off, when you come back to turn it on after 4/5 days it's still dead and needs charge or will power on but have less than 5%. It uses a modified version of Android so there's a chance someone might be able to root it or find a way to improve the doze options on it and how its draining the battery.

We finally have a universal translator.
The media could not be loaded. I like the size and feel of the product. It seems to be very accurate. No issue with an understanding English and translating that back to Spanish. However I did have some difficulty with the Spanish recognition To English. I've seen people comment that Google has something similar but this has features I really enjoy when you add Bluetooth and headsets. Once you pick the 2 languages that you want to use with this the touch of a button you can translate one to the other instead of having to go back in and change your options every time like on the phone. The UI take some getting used to it because it's a little small especially when you have to type things but other than that it's a quality product.

not so good
The screen is so small it's hard to type anything. Somehow I can't figure it out, it's a pain in the butt so far. Not enough explaining on how to use it. I might send this back.
