Before replacing the battery I would have to be connected to the charger all the time. Not anymore and the battery last a good amount of time. It was easy to install with all the provided tools. Only thing I needed was alcohol 91% form Walmart and a little bottle with a needle to dispense the alcohol under the batteries…wait a bit then scraped them off, put the new one and voila. Recommend.

Install was tedious, but if you're handy, it's worth it. fantastic update to my mac which had a swollen battery that only lasted an hour or so.feels like a new laptop. great stuff.

Excellent replacement battery for a 2018 Macbook Pro laptop! But be aware that you definitely need to be very comfortable with performing surgery on your MBP and there are numerous steps to go through. It isn't difficult but takes 1.5 to 2 hours to complete... I would also suggest looking up the detailed instructions on the iFixIt website as the pictures are larger and much more descriptive. But a great replacement option!

The battery itself is working well and I was able to install it with the instructions provided. The English instructions were hard to follow and really need someone to review and correct--I'm still trying to figure out what was meant by "shrapnel" in the instructions. The pictures provided along with the instructions did help, but were rather small and the warnings were unclear, though I apparently did it correctly. Gloves were provided (but not the alcohol mentioned in the instructions) along with the necessary screwdrivers. Many of the screws would have been impossible to put back in with the gloves on, so I did it all without the gloves and it went fine. If I had to do it again it would be easy to do but the first time a lot of it was unclear. The battery charged up as normal, the MacBook recognized it with "normal" status, and the battery life (so far) is performing as expected for a new battery.

Following the directions provided & watching a video from ifixit, this battery installation was not too too bad. I was a bit apprehensive about taking the MacBook apart, but all of the tools are provided and make it easy to do. I would recommend making sure you have a bottle of rubbing alcohol available to assist you in removing the old battery, as one is not provided with the battery. Would buy again.

The cards that are meant to be used to remove the old battery are useless but that isn't the real issue here. The ribbon cable provided to connect to the logic board has no extra tab to actually pull and insert. Near impossible to slide the ribbon cable into place. Actually broke the cable trying and had to use the ribbon cable from my original factory battery to get it working. Huge design flaw.

This is a good option to consider for battery replacement, as the package contains nearly all the tools you need and reasonably easy to decipher instructions. The replacement process is not for the faint of heart, as it is easy to strip a screw or tear a cable, but that's just the way the laptop is built. I guided my son through the replacement process and we stripped one screw and tore the trackpad ribbon cable, but with the purchase of a replacement ribbon cable and cutting off the screw, the laptop is now working well.
