I'm looking for an educational game for my 8 year old - is this educational and why is it 12+? Many thanks

It could be considered educational as it shows how animals can adapt over a long period of time to compete with each other and for resources, however in order to make it a game, the 'evolution' aspect isn't exactly realistic (and doesn't really show how long it would take in reality). It's better for teaching a 'general concept' than the specifics. As for the age rating - I can only assume it's because there's a bit of reading to do, and a lot of the gameplay is more abstract, so losing a game might be down to someone's cards changing in a way you didn't anticipate, rather than you just getting to the 'end' first. I would suggest watching a youtube video of it being played to see if it would be suitable for your own child.
