I was concerned about ordering this screen door as there were several variables that could have derailed the project. The first was the accuracy of my measurements. I triple checked to make sure they were correct. A heads up is to measure the height and width at several locations in the doorway. I’d say at each end and at least one in the middle. Most doorways are not completely square. If you find a variation, I would go with the shorter dimension as you won’t be able to force an oversized frame into position, especially across the short dimension but you can expand the frame somewhat. So if the frame fits nicely say in the middle of the doorway but there’s an 1/8” gap at the top and bottom, you should be able to flex the frame enough to get it to adhere to the two sided tape at the top and bottom. I was a little taken back by the slightly deceptive pricing for the unit. There was a base price which was under $100. When I went to enter the width and length that I needed, each measurement added a charge. I get that each door is going to vary in price based upon the size ordered but it was a little sketchy the way it worked. Anyway, once I added my measurements, it was around $250. Once it came in I checked it over thoroughly and everything seemed to be in good condition. I assembled the unit on an old sheet on a bed. I made sure I cleaned the area where the two sided tape was going with rubbing alcohol It was quite easy to install and I have to say that it’s really, really nice! The weight of the screen material is excellent and the way it accordion fold when you open it is a great design. I installed this at my in-laws apartment in their French doors and now everybody wants one! This was a definite home run.

This no-drilling retractable screen door works and fits perfectly out of the box with minor assembly!! I couldn’t be happier. Also, customer service was incredibly responsive when I had questions about the screen door and its installation both before and after installation. Just make sure you follow the detailed directions/guidance provided by the manufacturer on how to size it appropriately! So important!! I did, and also measured the door space accurately and carefully and it now works perfectly. 😊👍

I live in an apartment with a back door to a garden, but have always wished for a screen door. We can’t leave the door open because our cats would escape, and we don’t want bugs coming in. Due to the door and space it wasn’t possible to get a traditional screen door. Fortunately this product has been amazing for us. Make sure to measure your door frame very carefully. It took about two weeks to come and was very easy to set up and install. Mine has a very tight fit even without the tape. The screen slides open and closed easily. I got a latch but because the door slides closed firmly I didn’t feel the need to install it. Overall I’m very happy with it. My only concern is going to be the long term durability. If anyone bangs into the door, the screen may be damaged and hard to repair. Fingers crossed. We are loving the fresh air and so are our cats!

This door didn’t even last 6 months. The strings just fell disintegrated and the screen and door fell apart. Junk material. Cheap for what I paid. No children or pet in our home either. Cheap product. When I called Amazon they said No worries…. That’s a joke. Nothing ever became of it either. Doors are ment to open and close four years old… product is junk.

My new apartment balcony door was this heavy door without a mesh screen. My cats would ALWAYS run out to the balcony as soon as I opened the door - which is partially my doing as I am training them to be comfortable with the outdoors so that we can start going on harnessed hikes and walks. My kitten had an interest in walking along the railing and I knew there would be a day where he jumps 4 stories down. Living in San Diego, I desperately desired the breezy, movie nights in a Friday but I could never leave the door open without standing at it the whole time to make sure these little nuggets don’t jump. I decided to bite the bullet and ordered the screen door bc it was the ONLY solution that 1) seemed effective and 2) wasn’t hideous. Sure enough, my cat jumped down 4 stories and my other kitten came to warn me. I was so thankful that my screen door would be arriving within a few days. This was pretty much preassembled but the mesh screen strings at the top kept making the door stuck from opening properly. What I did to fix this was take a serious look at how it was designed and what was going wrong. I then detached the pre-assembled SIDE panels, fix the string configuration and reattached them. This did the trick. The tape they provide is EXTREMELY strong but still didn’t damage the door frame. The mistake I made was that I placed more tape along the sides than what was needed and this made inserting the door more annoying than it should have been. Because the tape is so strong, it immediately sticks to the side panels which makes readjusting challenging. So just keep this in mind. Even if your measurements are off by an inch or so, as long as you positions the screen door to site on the bottom comfortably, the most important measurement is your width. This is bc you NEED the screen door to be securely taped to the sides for proper opening and closing. But the height is not nearly as important. It’s more important if you’re worried about aesthetics (so that no spacing shows). Mine ever so slightly off, but once assembled, you can barely tell. My width was spot on and this allowed the panels to to stick strongly so that even with force from sliding the screen open and close constantly, it doesn’t even budge. The mesh is good quality. In fact, my oldest cat (18 years old) didn’t realize there was a screen and accidentally ran into the first time. Although the mesh screen is black, it it quite transparent and that was something I appreciated so much being that it’s right in my living room. Although the mesh is strong, it is not cat proof. My cat has climbed, bit and does everything he could to use it as a toy. There is some training involved with this, so I purchased deterrent spray and am hoping that will work. Even with his climbing though, the screen door has held up. He has made holes into it which I will patch with clear nail polish, and I’m not sure how much climbing it will take, but that is not the responsibility of the door lol. Anyway, I am now enjoying the beautiful breeze during moving nights and I am SO THANKFUL this thing exists!!!! My last apartment didn’t have front door screen and I wish I knew of this at that time. To have this solution is a huge win.

I am absolutely thrilled with this screen door. At first, I was a little scared to order because the size is custom and you can't return it. I'm so glad I decided to take a chance Note of caution...make sure to read the instructions very carefully on how to measure your door frame and then measure 3 or 4 times to make sure you have the right dimensions. It was delivered when promised and packaged very well. It was very easy to put together and appears to be made of good solid material. I also love the design of the screen itself. I live in an apartment complex and I'm pretty limited with any choices of a screen but this makes it easy to get a nice breeze, looks great and is definitely worth the money. The only thing that I found to be a little frustrating was putting the frame in place with the tape. It's not that the instructions were bad. However, if your door frame isn't even, there are going to be really, really tight places and I found it to be challenging. After a lot of swearing, maneuvering and readjusting the tape I was finally able to get the screen frame plum with the door frame. My suggestion is to put the frame of the screen in place and only tape the areas where there are some gaps. Once the tape is peeled, even the way they show you to do it, the thickness of the tape in those tight areas makes it difficult to readjust because the tape is stuck to the door frame. A little patience goes a long way. With that aside, I would definitely recommend this company and this product.

If you wanted this just as a screen to keep bugs out it should be fine. I was ready to give this almost 5 stars but not now. I bought this to keep my cat from going into my Man Cave and break things. Only took 2 days for him to discover he is able to squeeze right under the bottom of the screen so big fail! Now this thing is solidly in place so have to come up with a secondary barrier for the bottom. Installed it this weekend and fit well, very tight, had to cut 1/4” off the bottom Aluminum trim piece for width issue, but assume that was because to door jam opening wasn’t square enough. The instructions are not the best and the QR code for a video on the instructions doesn’t work. The double sided tape is 3M and good, but depending on clearance a challenging install. I was able to manage it except the protective paper on the bottom trim tore because it was so tight. If you had a cat with claws this would definitely be bad news. I thought the strings across the panel would be the weak link. I acquired my 1 year old cat a month ago and he was declawed already. Anyway good quality and function but if you need something to retain a cat from entering or leaving this is NOT it!

It is a good product but I had to drill holes through the track in order to mount it in a masonry opening. I did not want to rely on the 2 way tape in the Mexican heat and humidity on the gathering side of screen since the strings covered any space to drill holes so I used 2 small angle brackets which in my case was okay and not very noticeable but maybe not for other installations. If you are handy then this a good screen for you. I am very happy with the finished product It is a custom fit and it fit my rough opening perfectly , so they do a good job on that.
