Do you plug this into the external socket on a motorhome then plug in the extension cable in to it ?

there is a male end without a cap which goes onto the end of your cable socket which will have a cap. The unit allows you to plug three cables with male ends into the female caped sockets.

Im wanting to hook up 2 main extension leads to run fridge charge phones and maybe a monitor screen for the kids cartoons is this ideal to use

Yes you can run up to 3 extensions off one connection but remember this splitter is using the 16 amp 'Commando' sockets and you will need plug converters for 16A to 13A if you want to power household items or an extension with the blue 16A plug on the end of it.

Does this plug into the campsite EHU point and then 3 cables can be pluged into it providing 3x tents power ?

Yes. Please make sure that I have the correct circuit breaker if you are using electrical equipment in tents. Caravans and motorhomes have circuit breakers fitted, tents don't. This is important!!
