STAAR Success Strategies Grade 8 Mathematics Study Guide: STAAR Test Review for the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness

Recently I have bought the "STAAR success strategies grade 8 mathematics" book. The content of the book is very good, especially the explanation of each of the question is nicely done.

Great review for STAAR Test.

Really useful to prepare for the STAAR Math 8th grade test.

Not very useful. The questions are significantly easier than what students will see on a real STAAR test, and many of the TEKS aren’t covered at all.

I plan on using the questions during warm-ups, and spiraling them in to the review for my students to see STAAR formatted questions. Hopefully this will better prepare them for the test. Just looking at the material I think it is going to be a great resource for me, as a teacher, and my students.

I got this study guide for my son to use and practice with. Even though we’re schooling from home at the moment this has been a great tool. It has practice problems and solutions to walk you through the trickier parts, and good explanations as well. This guide has a friendly approach and doesn’t feel overwhelming or stressful.

I like the strategies it gives to help someone who struggles with Math. I am currently working with a 8th grader who cannot remember a lot of what she learns. She goes into a panic when faced with remembering how to do something. I am constantly reminding her to slow down and think about what she is doing. Your strategies reinforce what I have been trying to show her. If she focuses and reads through each strategy before we start and after we finish she is getting a better grip on what to do next. She is gaining confidence in herself!

Love the strategies and the practice problems! Very relevant!
