Does the CKSTPM6001-ECO Extra Large open 180 degree/flat for grilling like the smaller (CKSTPM20W-ECO) version does?

I just got this extra large oster version. It's NOT TRUE that it opens up 180 degrees like the smaller version. If I tried to open up to 180 it would break.

How big is the grill?

Grill surface is roughly 9"x13".

How do I clean the plates? I have some burnt stuff on it and I don't want to damage it

I heat the plates up and then put wet paper towels in there directly on the burnt stuff for a few minutes, then use rubber tongs to use the hot paper towels to remove the burnt stuff. Hope that helps.
