Would this soften the glare from led's? we put strip of small led's under my daughters loft bed but they're much too bright. can it be cut to size?

Yes it can be cut to size. Would suggest double up layer to soften led's for your purpose.

I’ve bought a softbox but the fabric of it is very thin, could I drape this over the box I have to further soften the glare of the light in it?

Yes you can but you’d be better making a scrim and using this along with light
