I have now possessed my Barvivo corkscrews for six months and, I have to admit reluctantly, gave onee to my son-in-law, who like me enjoys a good claret or Rioja from bottles with corks (!). I have always been of the opinion that a well made tool is a work of art, where form and function come together with certainty and a satsfying utilitarian beauty. This has a real quality feel to it. The feature that makes it easy and effective to use is the way that the levering-post, which sits on top of the lip of the bottle when you lever out the cork, has two lengths to it. You start with the shorter length to start extracting the cork, then move to the longer length to finish extracting. It makes it much easier to shift stubborn corks.

I’ve never actually bought a corkscrew before having the usual drawer full of god knows where they’ve come from jumble of bottle openers/corkscrews. So now in my early 40’s and having broken my last inherited corkscrew the time had come to buy my first one. This got glowing reviews, looked nice in the photos. Cost less than £9. . . When it arrived, it had a nice little box with a lifetime warranty card which was a surprise and a 10% off next purchase code. The actual piece is very ergonomic, the wood handle looks lovely. Its just a thing of beauty really. Anyway, i went straight back on and ordered 4 more of them with the 10% discount code, so nearly £8 each this time. Three of them will make the ideal birthday gifts for some family and friends. And I couldn’t help but order the one more for myself. By the way it has a bottlecap opener too.

This is really well built. It has that solid feel, also feel of quality. You know the cork screw will not get bent out of shape under normal use. The foil cutter knife is serrated so cuts foil off a wine bottle very easily. Great little tool to have. It's sturdy, good feel in the hand. Makes opening a bottle of wine very quick.

Excellent purchase. My husbands favourite corkscrew for years. He normally will spend a fair bit on these items but this particular one is easy to use, beautifully assembled and looks professional too! Would not hesitate to buy again in the future!

Brought it as a gift for a bar worker more than pleased with the product

Decided I might as well get myself a new waiters mate instead of using the terrible ones supplied at work and found this one, surprised by the high star rating I thought I’d give it a go. As soon as I got this in my hands I could feel the quality of it. Does the job expected of it and feels like it would last for a good while. The sellers seem to be keen on ensuring customer satisfaction with their products too. A must buy for anyone who uses one regulary!

Très beau tire-bouchon, bien fini et conforme à la description, j'ai bien reçu la finition choisie. Rien à redire sur la fonction tire-bouchon, il est robuste. Par contre la fonction décapsuleur est à améliorer: il plie la capsule mais la retire difficilement.
