GL.iNet MT2500A Brume 2 VPN Security Gateway, 2.5G WAN, OpenWrt, Aluminium

Only installed it a few days a go but im impressed how well it secures my network, still allowing vpn to connect. i contacted support they reply fast, but I had already figured out a solution as the Clients are best to pointing to he MT2500A for the gateway, easy to install and straigtforward to setup, using OpenVPN connect on remote machines works stable, would recommend

I have tried a RPI (tricky & unreliable), Asus AC-88U (slow, max 44 MB/s OVPN only) for my VPN.Stumbled upon this and thought I would give it a try. Perfect for me. Connection via Ethernet from my SKY modem/router, enabled VPN client on device (Mullvad), any that supports Wireguard or OVPN (will be slower though) will do and connected to my ASUS router via Ethernet & Bob's your uncle, it works.Speeds from 250 MB/s (using the Asus as theWiFi router) via WiFi up to 450 MB/s via Ethernet. I only have a 500 MB/s line.I am over the moon with this device as it delivers all I need for my house needs.If you are looking for an easy to use and reliable & fast gateway VPN device, this is it.

Troubleshooting was clear and responsive, and the replacement process was smooth and fast. I really appreciate them going the extra mile to sort this out.Performance-wise, I’m very happy with the device. In my setup, I use it as a dedicated router (routing + DHCP) alongside a managed switch where I handle IGMP snooping, STP, and other network optimisation. With a Deco WiFi 6 mesh and around 100 devices, it performs significantly better than my previous TP-Link ER605:* ER605: ~300–350 Mbps* Brume 2: ~700+ Mbps (WiFi 6)Overall, a great product backed by excellent customer support. Highly recommended.

Great mini router, user-friendly interface, had issues with the VPN set up, doesn't allow you to load an encrypted VPN token but was fine with off the shelf VPN click/drag

I have security cameras which don’t allow access to recordings without a subscription. With this I can use Tailscale or ZeroTier to access my home network.Fantastic solution without the complication of setting up a VPN, especially if you don’t have a public up address. This solved my problems overnight with only 5 mins to set up once connected to my router and added devices to access home network remotely.I would have preferred the plastic case which was cheaper but not available on Amazon. But the peace of mind being able to return was worth it.

L'article est bien mais pour une utilisation en VPN pour accéder aux fichiers d'un NAS depuis un ordinateur Windows via SMB du NAS j' ai du passé plus de 4 h de débogage avec chatgpt avant de trouver la commande qu'il fallait ajouter à la configuration pour que cela fonctionne parfaitement. J'aurais peut-être dû mettre a jour avant d'installer. Maintenant cela fonctionne vraiment très bien et je suis parfaitement satisfait. Accès réseau imprimante NAS scanner etc ... Depuis portable via téléphone 5G vitesse impeccable et sécurisé.

This thing has Very low power usage, and Excellent performance. It is a very advanced router, without WiFi. It uses 1-2 watts using it as a router. It's very easy to configure with many advanced features. The RAM and Flash memory are unusually large, so you can use it for a network that has a massive number of devices with all kinds of special rules for routing if you like, and it's solid. I looked for years for this kind of device. Finally I found it.

Got a GL.iNet Slate plus for travelling to connect to home for streaming home TV that is otherwise geoblocked when overseas.Previous Netgear security appliance at home stopped working, but only supported openVPN and not WireGuard. Netgear has dropped this category of device.Slate plus worked fine when overseas. A few teething problems in some hotels but working well when sorted. Answers are in the tech support forums. GL.iNet tech support is pretty responsive and monitoring the community support forums. I was impressed.Brume 2 was the simplest way to restore my home VPN. Easier to use than Netgear. There are cheaper more advanced products in this category, but they are not simple at all. Plus those so inclined can access all of openWRT via Luci interface if they need/want complexity.Free dynamic DNS. On in a click.WireGuard VPN server. On in a few clicks.WireGuard client on phone. Download. Scan QR code. Connect.Access to home network. On in a click.Newest firmware stopped talking to my Orbi wireless access point - but Orbi firmware update fixed that.Only thing missing is wall mounting facility. I am using a little piece of angle aluminium and outdoor velcro.
