Chemical Sponge, Dry Cleaning Sponge - Remove Soot From Walls Easily - Soot Remover

Fantastic 'sponge' 10/10 . I got discounted dry clean only curtains, as the package had split and as such one curtain panel had collected dust from being moved back and forth on the shelf at the shop. However it was going to cost more than I paid for the pair of curtains to get the grubby marks dry cleaned from the one panel that was marked. Well after a bit of googling i found this sponge and it worked wonders! Eaned every bit of dust and grime from the dirty panel In about 10 mins. You have to rub the marks on the fabric in one direction only, and cut of the corner of the sponge when its marked, but it does the job really, really well.

I was really surprised by how well this sponge worked on light soot stains from candles. We burn a lot of candles and sooty grime does accumulate on the walls and ceiling. I recently moved some framed pictures which revealed the dreaded soot outline in perfect rectangles. The sponge dealt with these marks easily. Usually I would make more of a mess trying to clean these types of stains but the dry sponge was a revelation. I ended up doing the whole wall which took less than 5 minutes but I could clearly see where the sponge had effectively removed the layers of soot. I have not used on heavy stains but after the picture frame “shadow” success I tried above a radiator where some staining had developed. This was not as successful but still an improvement on traditional cleaning.

Just got around to using this soot sponge, what a waste of money!Only removed a small amount and no more,after several attempts.Got better results using good old sugar soap so don't waste your time and money!

Amazing for "erasing" really bad smoke / soot on walls and ceiling from candles! I cannot believe the difference! Works on walls And works GREAT on Artex ceiling as well BUT: delivery dates are NOT to be relied upon (it arrived 6days later than promised) Great to know: it works GREAT even AFTER it is already fully black & full of soot already. It does NOT SMUDGE at all! I used the same 1 sponge for my entire living room ARTEX ceiling and it was SUPER SMOKED 😉

The chemical sponge was good. It was great for soot removal.

I ordered this sponge to clean candle soot marks off my wall as all info seemed to suggest normal wet cleaning would smear it. It worked well for a light mark, but didn't do anything for the heavier mark, even though I tried rubbing at all angles, directions and different pressures. Also as I was rubbing, little pieces of the sponge started flaking off and going everywhere. Might be useful for you if your marks are superficial, but not recommended beyond that. I ended up using my usual all purpose cleaning spray and microfibre cloth, being careful to wipe in downward motions to avoid smearing, and that worked way better!

I was skeptical about this sponge as it looks like just a sponge, but, I have been really impressed with how well it took the candle soot off of the walls and ceilings. It got dirty really quickly and I thought that it would then just smear the soot around, but it kept cleaning and cleaning and even at the point I though it wouldn't remove any more soot, it kept cleaning. I have now washed it out and it hasn't cleaned out at much as I expected (Still looks quite grubby). I am waiting for it to dry to see how well it works second time around.
