An impressive guitar fir its price.
I've never had a tanglewood before. And I'm happy I have one now. I have taken up the old guitar after a hell of a long break must be something like 6 or 7 years now. But this convinced me on price point and name recognition. Having never had one before and being an ibanez guy in the past, it was a little odd at first but I settled in very quickly. The neck has a ridge like finish. Thats what was odd. But again I settled into it quickly. And I have to say its quite comfortable to play too. The action is set at a reasonable height for my playing at least and the starter strings seem to be about a .12 gauge set. Great sound, with a lovely boomy bottom and a decently bright top. I use D'addario strings as a standard. The finish is just beautiful. I am a sucker for a matte finish but it does grab the light well when the sun hits it. I will say this though, the head is small. Too small for my wall hanger. So it rests in the top and bottom E tuning screws. So now it sits on a stand on the floor. The neck is a smidge narrow, so fatter hands and fingers may struggle a little fretting compact chords. That said my ham hock hands and sausage fingers do just fine. All in all a great guitar for its price.

Amazing beginner or party guitar
This arrived today. I normally don't bother to review items, but I felt compelled to write one for this guitar. I bought it for a friend who is learning. I thought I would have an extensive set up to do. I was wrong, almost perfect out of the box!The neck had a slight back bow so the strings rattled all over, a quick quarter turn to loosen the truss rod and it was playing like a dream. I thought I'd then have to lower the saddle and adjust the nut slots but they are well within acceptable heights. The frets are perfect, didn't need polished or the ends filed. I thought the fretboard would be dry and need oil, wrong again, perfect. The tuners are decent. The fit and finish are amazing. There was a small spot of something sticky on the back, damp cloth, sorted. It looks, feels, plays and sounds absolutely first class! All in all; amazing. Why didn't they have great guitars this cheap when I was learning? You'd swear it was £250! Great stuff Tanglewood!

Great value.
This is the least costly of the 12 guitars I own. But far from the cheapest in sound and build quality. The whisky barrel finish is very appealing.

Fantastic first guitar
Just a really fantastic beginner guitar, or even one to take out when camping etc.Really well crafted and finished, its simple but so well put together. Nice, easy action on the fretboard which is really well suited for beginners. No buzzy frets, the neck is very comfortable even for those with smaller hands. The only thing that would clue you in about this guitars price is the tone, which is fine but obviously not as deep and rich as a guitar three times the price. But that doesn't matter - if you're a beginner or campfire strummer, this is for you.WHoleheartedly recommend and I am now a big Tanglewood fan.

Good Value
It's a pretty decent acoustic, don't get carried away with it though, it's a cheap guitar and doesn't come close to a high end guitar but it was OK to play whilst I had nothing else and for £63 it's a bargain for sure.

Cannot believe this guitar was under £100!, I own many guitars and this one is so good and lovely to play not to mention the fabulous sound that it has become my favourite machine wonderful deep resinous sound and brilliant for slide too!!, 10/10 from tanglewood, looking at the auditorium version now!
