The quality and feel of this reel and telescoping rod exceeded my expectations for the price. I plan to use it while fishing from my kayak on river and lakes so having the potential to compact the rod is a great feature. Now that I have it in hand it’s clear that it can be used for fishing in large body water as well.Totally impressed!

I got two of these rods, one for myself and one for my dad for Father’s Day. We both love the rod! It’s really easy to use and I love that it can retract it, making it easily stored. The only thing is you do have to add the line to the reel yourself which is a little tricky, especially as a beginner. The manual included was a little helpful but I’m a visual learner so I looked up a video and was able to get it done in about 15 minutes. All in all it was great, not sure how it will handle a big fish but for now I’ve been loving it!

The reel is really good quality made, braided line is also very nice.The only concern is the rod it self. The hinges came off after one use.

I thought the rod was going to be great. It folded up nice. Then I used it. The first thing to go was one of the line guides. It fell off. I fixed that and casted about 10 times and the rod broke in another spot. Fishing trip was down to 1 rod and 2 people. The one we were left with at least was a quality penn rod and it’s been going for years. I’m actually glad it broke before I lost a fish with it. I think my window for a replacement just ended but I will see what the seller has to say and I will edit post after that if they are good to deal with I will accept that maybe I had a faulty one and if they replace it I will do another review.
