The lock here is handmade and can also be made in a variety of colours. This door also has a little key so your fairy in your fairy garden can open it but please understand that only fairy magic can open this door!! This fairy door can be placed inside your home on a wall or shlef or outside as part of your fairy garden or even at the bottom of a tree. When I was a little girl my Gran told me that one single tree in the middle of a field or grassy area was actually a fairy tree. Farmers or builders would never cut this tree down as it was bad luck. Each one would have had a fairy door fixed to the bottom. She would tell my cousins and I that it was a magic fairy door and only the fairies that lived in there could open the door. She said that if you put little gifts at the door the fairies would know they were welcome and safe to play and live there. We would put pennies and flowers at the door or anything shiney, as fairies love shiney things, then we would come back later and some or all of it would have vanished. We thought we were so special because WE had fairies!!! I forgot all about Grans fairy door stories untill I saw one in a forest. I thought I can make that. Then lots of families can have special moments just like we did.
