Nice, Large Size! Nice Large Bag! Folds Easily!
I like this thing more than I expected. It's about as sturdy as you'd want it to be, because any more and it would be too heavy to move around and install/remove, any less and it would be too light duty. The instructions were worthless, but it was easy to assemble. There is some spring/bolt thingy that I have NO idea how it could possibly have a function, but it seemed to be an extra anyway, because everything else necessary to put it together and install was there. It doesn't come with a hitch pin, though, just a bolt that you have to use tools to tighten. So if you want it to be a bit easier to install, buy a separate hitch pin. To make it less wobbly, it has this bent plate that tightens against the bottom of your receiver tube, and that DOES require an 18mm wrench to tighten/loosen every time you install/remove this cargo carrier, so just know that if you want to remove it when you get to your location, take an 18mm wrench with you. You could probably drive without the tension plate installed, but it will definitely wiggle around more.I love that the gate sides fold up so it's as flat as possible when storing. The bag is quite large. It fills the entire thing, plus sticks out the top about a foot. I easily put 6 large sleeping bags, 4 thick "Therma-Rest" style sleeping pads, two cots, 3 adult pairs of boots, and a small backpack, and I had still had some room at the top where I could have put more small items. With our 2015 Toyota Highlander, you can still open the rear lift hatch with the cargo carrier installed. If it's super overloaded, the door might hit the cargo you loaded unless you keep it to the backside, but with a medium load it's not a problem. However, my friend's Yukon could NOT open the rear lift hatch with the carrier installed, let alone with cargo, so it depends on your vehicle's shape, I guess. We also own a rooftop cargo carrier. This has been so much easier to install, load, and use than the rooftop carrier, and as an added bonus, it doesn't seem to affect gas mileage at all. And double bonus, the hard-shell rooftop carrier is limited to what fits with it still being able to close. This hitch carrier can be loaded as much as you can strap onto it, so if you need just a bit more room and have enough straps or rope, knock yourself out.In conclusion, yes, this thing was GREAT for the price. I love it.

Great
This was one of the best accessories for our truck. Work perfect for what we needed it for. The bag was great to have for the winter. The only thing is it gets very stiff in Minnesota weather

Made it cross country
Fit a Subaru Crosstrek quite well. It was very easy to install on cross bars and the basket frame is well made. We took it out for the first time on a 2,600 mile, five day, cross country road trip. The U-bolts slipped around a bit on our after-market crossbars. We did need to tighten them several times during a cross country trip, and we were within the weight limitations. About halfway through, we wrapped duct tape around the cross bars to prevent the u-bolts from riding up.Additionally, two of the nylon straps frayed during our trip, requiring doctoring, even after the extra pieces were bound up so as not to flap in the wind. It would be nice if they had an end piece to prevent fraying. Before you use, it may be worth melting the ends to try to prevent them from unraveling down a freeway. We had to do this at a gas station mid-trip. Additionally, four of the tie down straps are a little longer and had a lot of excess, and were more difficult to work with, making it more cumbersome to get them tightly tied. The bag appears water tight, but we did not have rain. However, the zipper disengaged and split mid trip. We were able to fix it, thank goodness, but I might also suggest a heavier duty, better tracked zipper to the manufacturer. This could have been a huge issue. I would be careful if you're using it, not to strain it in any way, or the whole product could become compromised. We appreciated that there were several ways to secure the bag including the tie down straps, a cargo net, and ratchet straps. The ratchet straps were a nice addition and made everything feel more secure. We contemplated what type of product to get before deciding on the basket/bag rooftop combo. We considered a small trailer, a hard cargo case, a roof bag directly on the car, and even renting a larger trailer. In the end, this was the perfect product to get some extra stuff moved across country. We fit three suitcases (a roller and two large ish duffle bags), a laundry basket, and a backpack into the rooftop bag. We had some additional room and probably could have fit at least another backpack.I'll add that my vehicle has a moon roof and this setup protected it, while also allowing us to occasionally peek through the roof to make sure things were ok. We traveled 70mph most days for hours and it held up pretty well. The gas mileage declined by a few miles per gallon, but we did have a full load so we aren't sure what it was directly attributed to. The wind guard did help keep things quiet, but there was slightly extra noise, especially if something wasn't fully tightened.Overall, we would recommend this product if you're willing to take those few extra precautions. This was my first product like this, so I can't compare. I can only say we were pleased with the extra space and generally with the performance and value.

Quality isn't as good as the ad gives the impression
This will the be the first of my reviews. The paint was scratched to the metal. It looks like this was used or previously opened. The instructions we for experienced people. Some parts and welds already have rust forming on them. The bag seems to be of high quality, but I have not used it yet. The size and fit seems to be good for my MDX. I'll give an update in my next update.

Great Cargo Carrier!
Love this cargo carrier! Build quality is great and it folds up nicely. I have zero complaints about this carrier, well worth the money. The instructions were minimalistic but I didn't have any issue using them. First time assembly is about 30 minutes give or take.
