PROS: I like that they give a range of hardness rather than the misleading indication that when interpreted means up to hardness. THese are light easy to use on both small and larger wire. Wanted for cutting spring steel I knew that my bicycle tools would work for the job but can not get as tight a purchase on the cable as these cutters can. I tested on what I bought these for which is cutting spring steel from small springs, but could not resist the temptation to really test the cutter on Stainless steel bicycle cable. Having the handles clearly marked with the red danger zone helps remind us to not let our hands get too close to the spring. The locking mechanism is easy to operate for locking the tool in the shut position. Pay more get more. These are not cheap by any stretch of the imagination. My other cutters have a ratcheting function to them, but I actually like the ease of these cutters more. Very clean cut on my bicycle cable too. I really can not speak much to the durability over time with this product, but I can say that the blade do not show the indents that my scissors received from trying to unsuccessfully cut the small spring to a pen, while this cutter was trough it easily.CONS: None noted. Well it does take some getting used to the angled jaws, but that is because I'm used to using a cutter with a curved blade vise straight angle.Yes I'd buy these again and recommend them to others. Helps that there was also a coupon at the time of my purchase. BDV

Why did you pick this product vs others?:The cost and reviews led me to believe this was the best tool for the job I needed it for. When trimming branches on a tree in my yard, I found a wire cable wrapped around a branch that was there so long the tree's bark was growing around it. I couldn't untie it and knew it had to be cut but I didn't have the right tool for the job. When I received this wonderful tool, I went out and snapped that wire in a matter of seconds. It felt comfortable to use and was easy to grip. It's nice to know if I ever need a wire cable cut, I have the right tool for the job!

I only use them to cut .155 trimmer line, (which they work great for) but they seem very well built and expect they'll outlast me. I had a problem with the 1st pair I ordered and they replaced them immediately. (Wouldn't unlatch.) Figured it out before I sent them back, and at this price I'm keeping both. (I needed to press down before trying to disengage, haven't had to since.)

I unexpectedly found myself needing to use wire rope for the first time. Despite a relatively full tool chest, nothing I had could quickly or cleanly cut the wire. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on a new tool that would get limited use. I found the WorkPro tool and since I’d had success with the brand in the past I purchased it. It worked right out of the box and was easy to use. It cut through 1/8” wire rope with no problem.I can’t foresee needing to use this routinely but having the ability to do so does provide some additional flexibility especially outdoors. I cannot attest to longevity/durability but for me it did the job at less than half the price of the the big box home improvement stores. If you’re a tradesman, you’d probably already have a higher quality tool, but for random Joe Homeowner trying to complete a project, this is a great tool.
