As described! It is a true 6awg copper wire that is tinned and packaged as a red and black pair inside of an outer covering that is tough enough to be considered flexible conduit.

Excellent quality wire impervious to being submerged in water.
Tough, good looking, does not short out when exposed to water. A short underwater connection at our dock did not work with lamp cord. Switched to this product and being submerged for a short distance in lake water to power 12V LED lights (out of the water) did not produce the same 'short circuit'.
