Why did you pick this product vs others?:I wanted a copper analog thermometer that had clear Celsius and Fahrenheit and a fairly accurate measurement. I placed it in the shade on my porch and it has consistently displayed the same temperature as the weather report for my area (+/- 1 degree).

The first one was made of plastic. The plastic rotted and fell apart.The second one was cheap and didn't work.This one is metal and works. It looks good, too.

I ordered two thermometers - one of them was fine, but the red sensor in the 2nd one was broken as it was reading 42 degrees. I'm in the OBX and it hasn't been 42 degrees since February. The Amazon website wouldn't allow me to return the broker thermometer, so I called C/S. The C/S Rep. told me that it couldn't be returned per the manufacturer's statement in the small print. After seeing the picture, the C/S Rep. agreed to give me a credit, but it took an escalation.

This is a great-looking, sturdy and apparently accurate thermometer, but I have two problems with its readabilty.The first, and this is more a matter of just what I'm used to, is that the Centrigrade readings are on the left and the Fahrenheit on the right, which is the opposite of all other thermometers I have ever owned, so until I get used to it I need more than just a quick glance.The other problem, and it's more significant, is that the finish on the metal is much darker than shown in the illustrative photo and, while it is very attractive, it is extremely difficult to see the black numerals against the steely gray of the body. The only way to make that easier would be to move it into direct light, which is exactly where a thermometer should not be.Were I to buy another, I would not get this color.Edit: I neglected to look carefully at how this thermometer is calibrated. It only goes to 104 degrees and this range is no longer adequate for summers in inland California.

Arrived in perfect condition, looks and feels very nice. Easy to install with included screws. Very easy to read, it is bigger than expected. Shows the correct temp, as long as it's not in direct sunlight. Installed on the wood trim outside window. Can be easily seen from inside.

The thermometer was listed as made in Germany but the box indicated it was made in China. Also it was listed it could be recalibrated but that isn’t so and there was no instructions to recalibrate if needed. The temperature reading is accurate but disappointing as to where it was made.

I bought this thermometer because it didn’t need a battery, would hang in its location, and be easy to read. I found its accuracy to be accurate. With a test between digital thermometer versus this thermometer and using the 80 degree oven and freezer. I also love that it reads in Fahrenheit. Definitely recommend!

Clean simple design; however it does not read accurately or at all. The product I received is stuck at 60 degrees even when temperatures drop. The red line/substance has not moved since. Therefore a faulty product, or perhaps I received a faulty unit.
