Boxie Probiotic Clumping Cat Litter 40+ Day Odor Control Dust Free 40 lb

1 month update: Not a trace of litter stuck to my cat's paws! Success! Noticeably less tracking onto the floor, zero dusty footprints, minimal odor... This is my new go-to litter. It's a little pricier but the fact that there's no perfume and it clumps so much quicker makes it totally worth it. I'm noticing that it lasts longer, too. Less $$$ spent on litter robot bags, less cleaning, less stress. Original Review I've been using FreshStep with Febreeze ever since my cat was a kitten and it's been pretty good. Great odor control with a catch. It takes a long while to clump (about 15+ min) and if my cat scratches it to bury, it gets stuck to her paws and she ends up eating it to clean it off. It's super sticky when wet and tracks everywhere. Since I got the Litter Robot 4, the litter always got stuck to the bottom and it made a huge mess. I had to clean it every week by hosing it off outside. The Boxie top clumping litter is a game changer. As soon as my cat pees on this, it's clumped up and the pee rarely has a chance to get to the bottom of the litter robot where it gets stuck to the rubber. So far, the odor control has been pretty decent considering it's fragrance free. I've also noticed a lot less of the litter tracking everywhere. One thing I'm not sure I like is that my cat's feet no longer smell like febreeze. Usually, when she jumps on my face at 4am, if I smell febreeze, I know she's just been in the litter. GROSS!!!!!!!!!!!! Now that I'm using boxie, there's no smell so now I don't know if I should throw her off the bed or let her snuggle under my blanket with me.... lol In any case, I know she's not eating litter anymore and I feel better using a non-scented litter. It's got a lot less dust when pouring, too!

I am so glad I switched! This litter is extremely low odor, clumps amazingly well, and with regular scooping does last weeks. The bag is heavy but it’s worth it. I will say it does tend to migrate from the litter box more than other clumping litters I have tried, but a litter mat helps catch the strays well.

I’ve tried quite a few different cat litters, and Boxiecat Pro has become one of my favorites. In a multi-cat household, odor control and good clumping are extremely important, and this litter does a great job with both. The clumps form quickly and stay together well instead of breaking apart into small pieces during cleaning. I also appreciate that it produces very little dust compared with many other clay litters I’ve used. One of the biggest advantages for me is how well Boxiecat Pro works in my Litter-Robot. I’ve had some litters stick to the inside of the globe as it rotates, but I don’t have that problem with this one. The litter releases well during the cleaning cycle rather than sticking to the sides, which helps keep the inside of the robot cleaner. Odor control has also been excellent, which is especially important in a home with multiple cats. It controls odors well without having an overpowering fragrance. It is more expensive than some other litters, but the performance is worth it to me. Between the strong clumping, low dust, odor control, and how well it works with my Litter-Robot, Boxiecat Pro has earned a permanent spot in my house.

Recently I had a pregnant queen give birth to four kittens. If you have ever dealt with a pregnant or nursing cat, you would know that they just DESTROY litter boxes when they go potty. It seems like everytime they pee it's a gallon, and everytime they poop it's a mountain. It's awful and, frankly, not many products out there can keep up with that degree of punishment while still controlling odor or without costing a fortune to clean and replace. Desperate, I turned to ChatGPT, who recommended this litter, as well as a few others. After trying some.kf the other options and being mostly unsatisfied I decided to go ahead and see if this one would be different. Let me put it like this: In a house with two adult cats, four 5-month old kittens and five 3-week old kittens, out of three large litter boxes THERE IS PRECISELY ZERO SMELL OR ODOR FROM ANY OF THEM. NONE. NOT EVEN A HINT OF ONE. In fact, I so completely FORGOT that there was SUPPOSED to be a smell that when I recently went and visited a friend's house who also had multiple cats and I walked in I couldn't believe how BAD the smell was! It really stunned me before I remembered "Hey, wait...I have a ton of cats. Why isn't my home this bad?". She claimed that I just didn't notice it, but when she came to visit after I had switched to this litter she was floored --it really wasn't there!! According to the company, after you start using this litter you "never have to change your litter from your littebox again" because the probiotics in the litter are constantly breaking down the waste. After 6 months of using this litter I can attest that this is mostly true -- the two times I have had to fully change the litter from the litter ones was because of just general hygiene as well as that I had accidentally allowed the litter to get too low while waiting on a delivery and the kittens had dug down BENEATH the litter and peed/pooped directly onto the litter box itself. 😓 While the current price point is a little high, I think the results speak for themselves and overall justify the price; since switching to this litter all of my cats & kittens have had less litter box complications and breathing issues since this litter is also very low-dust and hypoallergenic, and the shape of the litter itself doesn't easily lend to it tracking and sticking to their soft little paws. Even with diarrhea it clumps in record time and stays solid; with high moisture it locks it away almost instantly, making it extremely easy to scoop and sift. It's made from pet-safe ingredients and can take all the punishment a Multi-cat household has to offer. Obviously you cannot recycle this litter, or flush it down the toilet, but aside from that this is easily the most solid high-performance litter I've ever used. The other Boxie Cat litters are great as well, but I think this one is the GOAT. Don't take my word for it though. Get a 28lb bag and see for yourself. As a nice added touch, there are FREAKING HANDLES ON THE SIDE OF THE BAG!! HOW GREAT IS THAT?!! 😂 Everything about this litter had been well thought out and meticulously engineered for maximum comfort for both us and our pets. So give it a try. I am beyond glad that I did.

I don't usually bother leaving reviews, but I just wanted to add to the other recent bad reviews about the new formula being terrible. A different litter I'd been using for years changed their formula at the start of this year too, so I've been trying to find a good replacement since then. I was very happy with the first bag of BoxiePro I purchased and thought I'd found the litter I would stick with, but the second bag I just got is a completely different litter than the previous bag and it's worse in every way, other than still being the lowest-dust clay litter I've ever used. That's the only good quality the litter has now, but that's not enough. It's extremely frustrating that companies keep doing this. Time to try another new brand of cat litter and hope for the best. Is saving a bit of money by changing the formula really worth it when it's going to cause you to lose so many customers?

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ After trying several brands, this is hands down the best cat litter I've found. My European Maine Coon eats a fresh diet, so odor control is really important, and Boxie Pro does an amazing job of taking care of business. It clumps extremely well, making scooping quick and easy. I clean the litter box 2 to 4 times a day, and this litter keeps everything fresh without falling apart. The biggest surprise was how little it tracks and the fact that it's truly dust free. No clouds of dust when pouring or scooping, and far less litter ending up all over the floor. If you're looking for excellent odor control, strong clumping, low tracking, and virtually no dust, I highly recommend giving Boxie Pro a try!

Compared to the other brands I’ve used recently (Dr Elsey’s, Arm & Hammer & Tidy Cats) this is practically no dust. And this really minimizes any smells from the litter box. I have 3 cats and all 3 used it without any hesitation and it became their preferred box. It does stick to the side of the box when wet for longer than Dr Elsey’s. Elsey’s usually clumps and turns into a solid brick quicker than this brand. But i just kind of hit the box and tip everything to one side before I start scooping and it’s fine. I also used this in the Litter Robot 4 - and this sticks to the side more than Elsey’s does. So I prefer this brand just in their old school daily scooping box.

I don’t usually write reviews unless a product truly stands out. I have two cats who are both over 15 years old, and over the years I’ve tried many different litters. I recently switched from Tidy Cats to BoxiePro based on the strong reviews—and I’m very glad I did. One of my cats, Oscar, has become extremely sensitive to dust and has had upper respiratory issues. He would have frequent sneezing fits whenever the litter was dusty. From the very first day using BoxiePro, I noticed an immediate difference. Oscar completely stopped sneezing and seemed noticeably more comfortable and happier. BoxiePro truly has zero dust. It clumps very quickly and forms strong, solid clumps that don’t fall apart when scooping. After cleaning the litter box, it actually looks like fresh litter again—there are no leftover dark, broken clay bits like I’ve experienced with other brands. Odor control is excellent, even in a multi-cat household. There is some tracking, which is expected with two cats, but with a good litter mat it’s easy to manage and vacuum up. While BoxiePro is more expensive than many other litters, it is absolutely worth the price. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Overall, this is a premium, high-quality litter, and I genuinely believe my cats are healthier because of it. I highly recommend it, especially for cats with dust sensitivities or respiratory issues.

I highly recommend this litter if you have a picky cat! As any cat owner knows, your cat can out of nowhere decide that they don’t like something anymore.. My 17 year old cat started refusing to use her litter box and was resorting to using the bathroom all around the house.. it was frustrating constantly having to clean up messes and not understanding why she suddenly refused to use her litter box. I did some research and then stumbled upon Boxie. Even though it was expensive, I saw some pretty darn good reviews for it so I decided- let’s try it! Immediately she started using her litter box again. I was so relieved!! We did try another litter that Boxie makes (Air) but she went back to refusing the litter box again. So we went back to this probiotic litter and she’s a happy kitty again! Needless to say, we’ve learnt our lesson and are never switching her litter EVER again lol This stuff tracks, but it’s low tracking. My cat has a double coat, so she’s got some lil bean sprouts on her paws. Aslong as I trim & maintain her bean sprouts, it doesn’t track as badly. But it is clay litter, so there will be some tracking. As per smell, it does an incredible job at deodorizing. & it clumps pretty good too! It’s dust free which is also a plus! I remember when previously using the cheaper brands, I was always having to cover my nose & mouth with my shirt because of the amount of dust. I can’t believe I ever used that stuff because I realized how my cats were also breathing that in & licking it off of their paws… :( Anywhosies! I shall leave my review there. I absolutely recommend Boxie! I’ve subscribed & saved and will continue to do so! Anything for my lil lady :)

Easy to clean, but my cat does manage to track quite a bit of it out of the box. Regardless of that, in the 40-some years I've owned cats - this is the best litter I've found. I just wish it was a bit less expensive!

This is the best litter I’ve ever used. It was recommended to me by friends and it really makes such a difference. I think my cats like it better too! Keeps the smell down, clumps amazingly and doesn’t track much. It is 100% worth the slightly higher price!

I use Instachew’s self leaning litter box with tofu litter pellets, problem was pellets doesn’t absorb the pee fast enough and they don’t cramp so well that lot of it get stuck on the button and the whole room would smell really bad. I tried this for the first time, I have been using this for little over a month and our litter box does not smell at all. I clean the bottom tray weekly and with tofu litter pellets it would be very smelly around 4th days and I had to sprinkle some Arm and Hammer power. But with this litter I don’t have to do that anymore and none of the sand is sticking to the bottom yet!

I’ve been using this litter for 8 years and previously swore by it. With two it kept the scent down. The last while I’ve noticed it not performing the same. I clean my litter twice a day and the smell is still horrible now. It doesn’t clump like it used to and is a messy sludge that crumbles when picking it up instead. I canceled my subscription. Very disappointed
