Pentair Pentek DGD-2501-20 Big Blue Whole House Sediment Filter

I’ve bought the Pentair Pentek DGD‑2501‑20 filter before, and I keep coming back because it truly makes a difference in my home. When I use it, the water looks clearer and tastes fresher, which makes me feel good about what my family is drinking. It catches the dirt and sand that used to slip through other filters I tried. I like that it lasts a long time and fits my system without any trouble. This filter has earned my trust, and I’m happy to say I really love this product.

Fits the 20 inch big blue perfectly. Keep some replacement o-rings on hand as after some time the will lose their form and leak. I installed this in the water line coming into the house from my well between the well and the pressure tank. Specifically in front of a water treatment system intended to reduce lime scale in my water. Plus I was tired of cleaning aerators on my faucets. I know the filter is working immediately as there is no longer particles in my water. A strange side effect is getting brown or blackish streaks in my toilet bowls where the water streams down from the tank at the rim of the bowls. This happened at a previous property I had where I installed a filter system on an existing water system. After a couple of months this cleared up and I expect it will this tie as well. Is this because the water is now more clean and the lines are clearing up? Not sure but as this happened on a previous property this leads me to believe this filter is doing its job.

Effective sediment filter. Keeps silt out of our arsenic removal tank and water softener tank. Does not impede water flow. Can't do without it when on well water. We change it every 90 days.

Almost zero sediment in our water. Does it make it taste better? no. With this and iron fighter salt pellets it's the best you can do for combating hard water. Should not be this expensive but the market is cornered with something like this.

I have been using this filter for about 10 years, replace every 3-4 months. Does a great job of removing sediment from well water and has almost eliminated calcium buildup. It was bad before we installed the housing and filter. If you have city water it might also be a good idea to have this, for peace of mind.

We use this filter as part of a whole house 3 filter system - 2 polyspun and then a carbon filter. Our well water is high in iron and sodium and after filtration we produce lovely tasting, sparkling clean water.

These can be hard to find so I appreciate the fact that I can get them at a decent price and get them delivered to my home.
