I researched online a bunch of these and from all points of view this is the best.It can support more weight ( it has more contact surface with the wall then the other one) and it looks stylish.The problem is that I cant buy this particular model in a longer size.I made extra holes to add more resistance - 2 extra holes might be overkill but 1 is definitely a good idea.This is the only version on the market that can allows you to make this modification.Add 2 more holes and your kids they can climb on the curtains like on a rope and still not take them downThe metal is thick enough for extra holes but is not strong metal is an light alloy.The competition, "Umbra" has some problems holding properly to the wall.

Easy to install and sturdiness!!

I installed them all by myself and I’m usually a project princess. SO sturdy, easy to install, and absolutely perfect. It does the double curtain look AND blocks out sun on the sides. LOVE LOVE LOVE

These rods are far and way the best I've ever purchased (and I'm a senior). After significant research and installing an Umbra over a picture window, I went back to the drawing board and replaced the remaining rods in the house with these beautiful all metal (unlike many) rod sets (in matte black) throughout the rest of the house.The oval backplate is brilliant; it's easy to install and beautifully hidden. We installed the middle of the backplate about 1.25" below the ceiling (i.e. in the header for the walls) with 1.5" screws to enure they were sturdy, yet easily removable when necessary, and to maximize energy savings. (Your measurements may necessarily vary for your home.) This application is so sturdy that it's easy to install and remove draperies by simply unscrewing the rods in place.The rods sit 2" and 4.5" from the window, giving them just enough air space to help insulate without standing out too far into your room. The wrap around end feature is not only stylish, but surprisingly energy efficient.IMHO, you can't go wrong with these!

After years of curtain rods these are a revelation. Sleek Scandinavian look. Sturdy. Simple. Base is affixed to wall. Curved end slides onto base. Rods screw in at both ends so you can unscrew one end to slide curtain on or off. FYI--because of the curved end curtain needs to be a couple inches longer to go around curve.
