Does this actually taste good mixing it with just water?

Thank you for asking this. Yes. It tastes great with water, oat milk, almond milk, dairy milk and coffee. When our cocoa is mixed with water, it has a drinking chocolate consistency (a little thinner and a dark chocolate flavor). For a more traditional hot chocolate taste and texture, we recommend adding oat milk, almond milk or dairy milk. 
Also, we use Certified Organic Stevia Leaf Extract to give the cocoa it’s sweetness. It’s a more healthy alternative to high fructose corn syrup, maltodextrin or sugar that other cocoas use.
We also include a scoop as a guide to get a consistent serving. But feel free to use more or less as you prefer.

From many years experience even a little Chocolate (caffeine) keeps me awake so I'm leary to try this. Is this actual cocoa?

Thank you for the great question and you're not alone! We've have several customers that are sensitive to caffeine and are quite happy with our cocoa. There are three main reasons why:
1. We use Alkalized Cocoa also called, "European style," or "Dutched". One if the key benefits is that this process reduces the caffeine content by about two thirds. 
2. A little goes a long way. Since there's 0g of sugar, our serving size is only 3g.
3. The Melatonin, LTheanine and GABA are there to help promote sleep.

Is this dark chocolate?

Hi,

Thanks so much for your question. Our organic skinny cocoa mix is dairy free and has no sugar added. So it is a dark chocolate. It is sweetened with organic stevia so you may not get the same bitter notes as a deep dark chocolate. There’s also a dash of sea salt for a well rounded finish.

That being said, many of our customers prefer to mix it with oat milk, almond milk or dairy milk to get a more traditional milk chocolate hot chocolate.
