Design Essentials Natural Honey & Shea Edge Tamer Hair Gel, Clear, 2.3 Oz

This works best on my 3c/4a edges (yes, my edges are two different textures like the rest of my hair) when I wet a small edge brush, shake the excess water off so the brush is damp, brush my edges with it, then take the DE edge tamer and apply using my pointer finger all over my edges. I use about a pea size to start with and just apply more as needed. I smooth the edges and edge tamer with my fingers and then use the brush again to lay them however I'd like. If I want my edges to stay all day, I tie a silk scarf over them for about 5-10 minutes. I've noticed that with this method, even if I don't tie them down, they'll still look presentable and if they do start to frizz throughout the day, I just take my finger and maybe a little water and lay them back down since this stuff is pretty sticky and pliable even if it's been hours since I applied it. I've noticed that if I try to apply this to dry unstraightened edges, a white cast appears on my dark hair, they don't lay down as flat, and sometimes, this stuff will pull my edge hairs out because it's too sticky to apply straight to dry edges for me. So wetting first helps to keep my edges on my head and also slick them down more smoothly lol

First I want to say, this definitely works best on CLEAN hair. I believe that goes for any edge control though. If your hair is already greasy, it won’t work well. Now this edge control doesn’t have a really strong smell like others and it has a very nice hold. No flaking or white residue. Tie down hair for at least 5-10 minutes and you should be good. If tied down longer you’ll be good all day unless you sweat hard. Would definitely purchase again.

smells good and for the most part keeps my edges in tact. It doesn't make your hair hard in any way...this is a soft way of laying down and taming the edges. I'll continue to purchase although some days I feel like I need something a little stronger. Good stuff.

Firstly I love the scent of this product. But start off only using a little bit. Too much will make your hair hard and flaky. It doesn't seem to dry out my hair like most edge control products. It is a little container but again, you only need to use a small amount. It hold my hair all day until wrap it at night. If you use it daily it will cake your hair up unfortunately but it is not hard to wash out. Overall it is a good product.

I love how it lays me curly edges. So far so good with a good hold no white residue so far

Product not as effective like I would have thought said Shea edge tamer gel, it supposed to tame hair edge's my hair still fussy and curls back not worth the hype for me I only give a 3 star ⭐ based on my experience smells, great not too greasy

I love this stuff! It works great on my natual hair. It lays it right down. I usually wear a sew in but i choose not to relax my edges. This stuff gives my edges the sleek and shine of a fresh relaxer and it doesnt sweat or oil out! I reccomend putting it in the refrigerator after use for best repeat results!! Its also best used with a clean scalp . Mutiple applications on top of each other ruins its effectiveness and leaves a white residue that will show up. So wash your edges before each application.

Excuse my dry face I don’t put anything on it after I was it. Anywho, I have never heard of this company and what made me buy it was the scent. Most edge controls have an alcohol like scent And I’ve had allergic reactions from them. (Hives) I was nervous to try because I was hoping it wouldn’t be greasy and watery like jam, But for $5 I say hey that’s not a very big risk.,, thankfully it is actually very firm and smells great. To test for an allergic reaction after I did my hair I laid down on my pillow to see if I would break out and nothing happened ! So they’ve got a new customer for sure and I’m going to be sure to tell my braider about it!

... I ordered two different edge tamers and this one isn't as taming as the other onefrom Kera Care. BUT it smells a lot better, I love it. So therefore, it's okay.

This product does the job without being too sticky or oily Works great on my 4c hair texture Could work on fragrance though. Its a bit too fruity for my liking Over all very pleased with result
