I bought a chair from a charity shop on impulse and excitedly got it home, wrestling it into my mini with the help of a kind passerby who took pity on me. Once I’d unloaded it, lugged it to my room and sat back to admire my bargain, I became aware of a smell. It was a smell I genuinely loathe - cigarette smoke. I kicked myself for not doing a sniff test in the shop and set about trying to get rid of the stench. I tried sprinkling bicarbonate of soda on it, then gave it a full clean with a vax machine to no avail. Dejected, and ready to call it a day and heave it back into my mini to transport it to its final destination at the local tip, I decided to give this spray a go. I figured for £6 it was worth a shot and the reviews were positive. Well! A few sprays of this stuff all over and the smell is gone! I am delighted. I did think I could have bypassed the vax which did dull the chairs sheen somewhat (it was velvet - oops) but looking at the colour of what it sucked out of the chair it was worth the hassle. So now I have a much cleaner (if slightly less sheeny) chair with no smell and no requirement to wrestle it back into a mini. Win/win! Recommend if you have a stinky bargain you’d like to rescue!

Excellent! Does what it says! Don’t expect it to work the second you use it though. It has to dry first before the odour is gone. That’s how it works.

It does eliminate smells, however, stronger smells you may have to use it several times over.

I was actually surprised how well this works. I have a room our foster dogs had been in and repeatedly peed on the carpet and knocked over their food bowls, and even after multiple carpet washes and powder deodoriser we couldn't get rid of the dog smell from the room. Spraying the carpet and soft furnishings with this worked within about an hour - I'd been expecting it to need multiple treatments. Very impressed with it.

It kind of masks the smell rather than getting rid of it, it’s ok as a temporary fix but definitely is not a long term solution to a smell problem

If you regularly travel in the car with a baby or toddler in their seat, then you probably know how hard it is to get rid of the smell if your baby is sick while in their car seat. I'm very sensitive to that baby puke smell and it makes car travel horrible having a smelly baby seat, even with strong air fresheners. To use, just clean off all the visible liquid/solid stuff with paper towels and wet wipes or something, how you would normally. Once the seat is as clean as you can get it with wipes etc, it will likely still smell awful - and if left to dry the smell gets worse before it gets better... well not any more! Liberally douse all areas that got sicky - including straps, velcro and all hard-to-reach nooks and crannies - with this spray and then leave to dry. This product has quite a pleasant fabric-freshener-type scent to it, but it dries to be odourless. It doesn't mark fabric at all either, which is a bonus. Once fully dry, just smell the seat carefully to identify any places that you missed or that need a second spraying. I've never had to use this stuff more than twice (drying naturally in between doses) to get rid of even the most offensive baby smells. Myself and my wife keep a bottle of this in our car boots, just in case, in fact. I'd give it six stars if I could: it's not cheap but then it's the only stuff I've found that doesn't just mask the smell but actually gets rid of it altogether... worth its weight in gold if you hate those sicky smells! :)
