Helpful Practice for a Homeschooler
My struggling third grader was resistant to this because it says "1st Grade" all over it. But once we were past that, he loved the Star Wars theme throughout. He is engaged and eager to do this work as a supplement as a result.Pros: Good handwriting practice, well-spaced. Some grammar thrown in too: verbs, nouns, adjectives. Not repetitive work, they mix it up nicely. Great for the avid Star Wars fan. Colorful tooCons: Grade Level/Age splashed all over the top. I considered duct tape. :) Wish it had even more pages.

Great way to motivate a little Star Wars fan!
My daughter is a young rising first grader who also happens to be currently obsessed with Star Wars. This is one of three of the Star Wars workbooks (reading, writing, and math) for first graders that we purchased--she loves them all, and I'm pleased with their quality and level of difficulty.

Great for Skill Development
We have all three books. My first grader loves the Star Wars theme. He is in a Montessori program, so the teacher does not supply homework. He is required to do 20 minutes per night of something academic. He likes this workbook and happily engages in for 20 minutes. It is also aligned with common core standards. This helps me keep track of how much he is learning throughout the year. Another bonus, my son and his dad both love star wars, so they get excited looking through the books together, providing a bonding experience. The writing skills book features characters from all six movies. The illustrations are attractive. The directions are easy to follow. It covers a variety of skills including: upper and lower case handwriting practice, sentence structure, story structure, etc. the book is well designed and takes the tediousness out of writing practice.

Great Motivator
I bought all the 1st and 2nd grade books for my son, he had a very, very bad year in kindergarten and now getting him motivated to do any kind of learning is very difficult. However, these books are easy for him to read and understand, he only needs a little guidance sometimes. He loves that they are Star Wars characters, and I love that he asks me if he can do his workbooks. I also took his book one step further and ripped the pages out and put them into page protectors and a 3 ring binder so that he can do the pages over and over, and I can use them for my other kids when they are ready to.

Great workbook for writing practice
My son has officially completed the first grade book. It is great for practicing writing and learning unusual Star Wars words. The answers are in the back in case you don’t know all your Star Wars terminology. We used this book to study parts of a sentence (noun, verb, adjective) and punctuation and capitalization. We really enjoyed it.

Perfect for my 1st grader!
We were struggling through daily journal and with creative writing in general. I read a suggestion to find a workbook that involves your child's favorite characters or shows - and stumbled upon this workbook. My 7 year old LOVES it. He writes in it each day, without me having to ask him. Hopefully this will help improve his handwriting and creative writing skills. Win win!

My Kindergartener loves these!
Bought this for my kindergartener for Christmas. He has completed 1/3 of the book so far. He loves the fact that it's Star Wars, even if most of the book is generic letter copying. One word of advice though, if you're like me and you have NO idea what the Star Wars characters are named, when you get to the "fill in the missing letter" section, the answers go in the order that they're listed on the instructions at the top of the page. Really helpful if you didn't know that "boba fett" has a cousin or dad or something named "jango fett". :D
