High quality head unit with true 5v preamp outputs

The install is the biggest issue, especially if you are pairing with brains to maintain steering wheel controls. Installed in 2017 Toyota RAV4 Limited with larger screen. There is no wire harness to use factory installed mic so have to use after market one.

Android auto is constantly losseing connection, and it's only Android auto that is the issue. Other wise it works. But main reason it was a decent price for what I wanted.

It sounds phenomenal! It's on par with the pioneer head unit or better than what I had previously for the last 7yrs. The pioneer receiver I had was not an HD radio. Always been a pioneer guy first time with a Kenwood.Only have owned/used it for about a few hours now so far. Installation took about thirty minutes on my Nissan Titan. Didn't have time to program fm stations yet so streamed YouTube music and it sounded great. Visual album covers transferred over to the screen nicely.The android auto maps is crazy. The turn navigation and destination being on the screen at the same time leaves little room for the actual map. I found this frustrating as my phone doesn't show this and has plenty of screen room which is not like on the receiver. I found it distracting while trying to drive.I also found the map to be white washed. Not vibrant in color which was disappointing.Snappy response on the touch screen. The HD radio information on the station/singer "who's playing" doesn't always show up.Will need more time with it. But feeling a bit underwhelmed. Will update review as time goes on but have slightly buyers remorse. Wish I would have had an opportunity to test it in a store with my phone.

Lots of great features, but bluetooth connection drops at random times. It has a USB-C connection, but can't recharge the phone. Screen looks like a low quality, nowhere near what's on the website.

Have replaced with the same version 3 times. First unit would drop Android Auto connection both USB and Wireless. Each time I had to restart the unit to reconnect to Android Auto.Second unit sometimes the widgets didn't display correctly (upon switching from reverse to drive) and the small widget icon on the lower corner didn't always respond upon touching it on the screen. Again I restarted the unit in order have the screen respond sgain.Now I have a third unit; immediately the same problem with the widgets and also suddenly no audio, not even when I used the radio.After several attempts the audio return but still have the same problem with the widgets, as with the previous unit.Although the units all produced awesome audio but the bugs triumph the nice sound.Stay away!

Had a Safelite windshield replaced, it leaked and caused my 2019 impala screen to go blank. So Safelite replaced it with this Kenwood DMX 908s excelon. Didn’t tell me it wouldn’t have the CD player and the speed of the road display wouldn’t work. Worst of all you can’t see the screen in the sunlight and the backup camera visibility is terrible compared to OEM Chevy. I was told at Dr Dashboard it was a $1900 unit. I looked it up. $849 on Amazon. So now they are having to take this Kenwood unit out and fix the OEM and reinstall. Complete runaround and lied to about the cost of the unit. Never ever use Safelite or Dr Dashboard in Evansville IN. Scammers is what comes to mind. Cheap quality unit that you can’t even see in the sunlight. Same for backup camera and they did away with the CD. Never was I told about any of this. This unit is JUNK AND DOES NOT COST $1900. A new unit from Chevy cost $800 installed but Safelite insisted I take it here. Next the water stains in the headboard need cleaned and the speakers replaced. Safelite is terrible and Dr Dashboard is just as bad. You have been warned
