Rode K2 Multi-Pattern Dual Condenser Valve Microphone, Silver

The media could not be loaded. I have several songs on the radio now and THIS is the mic that hot me there. I absolutely love it!! It's clear, bright, vibrant and so, so, so detailed. I prefer it to mics that are nearly TWENTY TIMES the price. This is MY mic. I use it for everything: vocals, guitar, some percussion. I even used it to record frogs and crickets on a summer night to use in the background on an upcoming song. Truly, you won't find a better mic.

I am beyond pleased with the quality of this piece of functional art. It is as much a pleasure to handle and look at as it is to use. Tracking work becomes instantly more productive just by adding this as that critical step 1. Everything sounds better, which makes everyone feel better, which makes all the performances better, so you end up getting SO MUCH DONE! The mic has a rich openness that I can only describe as beautiful. Accurately capturing even the most gentle transients and spectral shifts, The K2 manages to deliver a tonally balanced "silky warmness" I've only ever heard from a Neumann U87, but a buttery goodness that is a character all it's own.This mic will STAY in my first try lineup.

Love this Mic! Best mic I've ever owned, I had a cheap Chinese mic (Studios Project c1) And wanted to upgrade to a nicer high end mic. I have recorded using $5.000 mics before, U87's, telefunken and other expensive mics . This mic is by far my favorite of all of them. It has that "warm sound" it sounds good on everyone I've recorded so far. I was looking for something that works all around an I must say the mic is Alsum you will like it ..if your looking for something at the price which values more for the buck. So I am sticking to buying from here talk to you soon.

Pretty tricky to get the sound i wanted from it but it comes with a 10 year warranty.

9/27/2019 Update: I ended up picking up a new one and Rode told me that they have a notice on their website about buying their Microphone here and to be careful.Bought from Amazon at the low price of $296.09 and the only thing missing was the original box. Everything else was there, but I watched a YouTube unboxing video, the K2 I received was not in any protective film, and there everything was open.I received the mic 20 days ago and I'm noticing a problem with the mic when I set it to Figure of 8 Mode, seems the other side (the rear) distorts, perhaps this is why the price was so cheap.Another thing I noticed, I have great equipment, but this mic is limited to recording at -15 DB or below, anything else and it sounds too distorted, which is strange because my MXL Mics never did that. I could barely hear my voice in my headphones and the mic was distorted at not a loud volume of speaking.I'm buying another tube amp to test this out, hoping it's my tube amp and not the mic, but I've used the mic only about six times, vocals only in Cardioid mode, this was the first time I switched the polar pattern.I'll delete this review if it turns out that Amazon will refund my money since I've only used it 20 days. I received the mic on June 1st, it's the 20th.
