A great tool for cuts where a normal circular saw is too big.
This probably shouldn't be your only circular saw, but it is a fantastic tool to have in the right situation. It fits perfectly on my makita tracks (I would assume it also fits on powertec and milwaukee tracks) and it has a great motor if you have the right expectations. Obviously don't try cutting 2x4's with this and I don't know how well it would handle super dense hardwood, but it did a great job of breaking down 1/2" plywood and cutting trim I used for picture frames. It didn't cut through them as fast as a 7 1/4" saw would, but that's not the point. It made nice, clean cuts on smaller pieces of wood and was very easy to maneuver. My only complaints is that setting the guide up to use on a track blocks the dust collection port. Otherwise, its a great, lightweight tool for a pretty reasonable price.

Bosch GKS-10.8 Lithium Circular Saw
This Bosch 10.8/12 volt lithium battery operated saw is perfect for small DIY jobs around the home. From garden stakes to size, to cutting boards for shelves, it really works. I own several of the large 12V/ 6A (GBA12V60) extended capacity batteries which are perfect for comparatively larger product. The GBA12V60 are the highest capacity 12v batteries made by Bosch at this time. Obviously the a big draw of battery operated tools is not having to drag around and trip over cords. The blades for the GKS-10.8 saw are 85mm 3-3/8”) diameter with a 15mm hole in the middle. I have not been able to source Bosch brand blades in the USA, however, there are plenty of others manufacturers to choose from. Amazon, Menards, HomeDepot and Lowe’s sell blades made by Performax, Dremel, Rockwell and others. There are specialty blades made for wood, plywood, metal, plastic and ceramic material. Dremel makes some nice multi-material blades that slice thru pretty much everything one might typically find in a home/apartment. More on blades. Blades, depending on the brand name and application, cost between $7 and $10 each, and often are packaged several types in a pegboard package. At that price, it’s possible to buy two or three of the most frequently used, thus saving time a bother if an unanticipated trip to the home improvement center. Part of the GKS10.8 ability to make numerous cuts quickly and efficiently is owed to a thin blade. The “kerf” or the width of the teeth/space removed is but a couple millimeters (about and 1/8th”) wide. That said, not much wood is being wasted, nor dust being tossed about. So there’s that. This saw, although somehow available in the USA, is a bit difficult to find add on accessories for. In googling around, there is a dust collection hood one can purchase as a spare part, and in theory, attach a vacuum hose to. Well, whatever. If your OCD requires. Practically, no. The GKS 10.8 is a well built saw. High impact plastic material similar to all the other tools Bosch sells. The metallic base it solid, no skimping. The motor housing has a button one pushes to lock the shaft of the motor, and an included Allen hex wrench (with an onboard storage slot!) is then used to loosen and tighten the screw to change blades. A real steel blade guard offers excellent protect to hands and fingers while in operation. As with corded tools, always disconnect batteries and/or cords before changing blades or other accessories. Always wear protective eyewear while operating power tools. One strategy for making precise, accurate, and straight cuts, is to use something as an edge guide. A straightedge, as it were. I have a couple pieces of aluminum angle that I will clamp down. For this saw, a home center yard or meter stick would work excellent. Add a couple small C-clamps and there you go. So yes, I really do like the Bosch GKS-10.8 cordless saw. Matched to the right project application, it’s the perfect small saw for something less that commercial carpentry or major remodeling. For modest projects where one just doesn’t want to drag out the arsenal for one simple cut. Fits in a toolbox, uses standard Bosch 10.8/12V charging bases. Elegant.

Blades, blade replacement .....
The saw is great but sellers listing isn't, so I am posting info on blades. The saw uses 3-3/8" blades with 15mm arbor. This is the same blade as Makita, craftsman and Black and decker of this size. The "bare tool" actually includes one decent (non carbide) blade. Also, the allen tool to change the blade is in a holder on the base of the saw. I have had great results cutting out 3/4 plywood around a power panel for an upgrade. Sawzall and standard circ saw are impossible to use there due to tight space. The saw has plenty of power, and will kick out of the grove if you let it. Hold on tight and you will have good results. It uses batteries pretty quick, so have a spare in the charger. Rotation and spool-up seems kind of slow, but don't worry; it will do the job just fine. I think its great. I wish I bought it 2 years ago when I first learned of it.

Awesome Little Saw
This thing is awesome. Obviously it doesn't have a massive depth of cut and it isn't super powerful but if you are just looking to cut plywood and hardwoods up to ~3/4 or an inch or 20mm it works very well and is extremely handy and portable. It is also very quiet for a circular saw. You might even be able to get away using it in an apartment without disturbing neighbors too much. The only negatives I can think of is the complete lack of any kind of dust extraction port and the fact that Bosch makes/made a base that allows this to be a quite nice little track saw but that base is not widely available.

I should have read the 1 star reviews first. Dont Buy it.
I agree with all the other 1 star reviews. The blade is on the right of the saw and it is difficult to see the cut. 12 volt power IS just 12 volt power so any kind of 3/4 inch stock will be slow going with kickbacks, jamming and not a smooth time cutting what would usually be a easy thing. I Love Bosch Products but this one is not a joy to own. Maybe for thin stock and very light cutting will be the niche for this loathsome tool. Dont buy it.

Good for quick, light use
Convenient to have this saw that can quickly pulled out and used for quick tasks, and is compatible with the other 12v tools. But the saw is a little lightweight and underpowered for regular use.
