Sturdy
Replaced my wooden closet rod and triangular brackets with one of these and a metal rod. Worked perfectly and holds a lot of weight!

Extremely tight fit
I purchased the center support ring along with a custom length rod, both in black. Specifically for my experience, the ring was too small for the rod on both ends. First, I had to use a hammer to force the rod inside the hole, because the aperture was not large enough. Then I had to use a clamp and the hammer to pound the center support down the rod. About a quarter way through, the resistance went away for a bit, until returning towards the midpoint. As I had purchased the black version, the black coating completely stripped away from one corner of the rod, all the way down - which was the location of manufacturing error that caused all the stoppage. The result is that my coat rod and center support are semi bent, and stripped of black paint. Luckily I had the Rust-Oleum black enamel spray to save the installation somewhat. I did not care to return the set, since it took such a long time to receive the items, and the rod was a custom cut.My advice for the company is for a QC person to spend 2 seconds to see if the support ring would fit over the rod and reach the midpoint without stripping the paint or scratching. Someone at Phillco spent 5 minutes wrapping the support ring and couple other pieces to the rod with Saran wrap. It would have saved my rod and support ring, and I assume many others who had this problem. I would give this 1 star, but the Rust-Oleum spray allowed me to be more lenient.
