Still a classic horror!
Such an old film from the 80's but I enjoyed it when it was shown ages ago on TV. I actually found it quite scary at the time but the comedy between the two brothers Sam and Mike (Corey Haim an Jason Patric) are pretty good together. Their mum played by Dianne Wiest (sorry for mispelling), is also a good character who is struggling to raise them at her father's house in strange town Santa Carla.Keifer Sutherland (ignore his horrible accent in the film Pompeii), is great as the leader of the vampire gang (spot actor Alex Winter from Bill and Ted) who doesnt speak much but also a vampire, they lead Mike into their gang as he has a crush on 'Star' (played by Jamie Gertz who was in Twister). It's got a catchy soundtrack with songs like 'Cry Little Sister' and a few others.Sadly this copy of the DVD kept jumping so I had to stop it and got a refund from Amazon so missed seeing the ending. I would like to buy it again when I can as it's a good old classic horror film which I like, unlike these modern day rubbish ones!

An 80’s cult classic by any standards!
What can I say. An 80’s cult classic. It has to be done. It’s just something everyone needs in their collection. It just never gets old really. It’s almost like a gory version of The Goonies. Perhaps with slightly less humour. I wouldn’t call it a horror film by any stretch of the imagination but I wouldn’t really recommend it to younger viewers either, although I’m aware that nowadays most of them have probably seen much worse. I think the age rating is possibly a little outdated and would probably be given a 12 rating at the most nowadays. If you haven’t seen it, you should. If only just for the pure 80’s nostalgia and cool soundtrack.

Pesky vampires!
A fun, well made film that has moments of heart but mainly plays to its strengths which is whimsy, action and spectacle. The leads are all efficient in their characterisation but not particularly memorable, apart from probably Keifer Sutherland who oozes deliberate overacting perfectly, but it's the entire idea and its implementation that wins overall. Teenage vampires (such an original concept back then!) terrorising and turning a sleepy, 80s Californian town. What's not to like? Corey Haim? Corey Feldman? The wooden Jason Patric? None of it. It's all just good, clean (in places) fun. And it comes together perfectly even with a great little twist at the end (before twists were expected every 5 minutes). Not the best film in the world but well worth a try. And also ripe for a (decent) remake.

Broken case
Received dvd today and the case is broken, not happy about this, I'm not returning it as we are in lockdown and I'm not dealing with the hassle, but I am very unhappy about the condition of the case

Scratched disc
Thanks very much for sending me a dvd with a scratch the size of the grand canyon. Ruined the film.

Total classic.
Watched this with my 14 and 10 year olds. They loved it. Even though it's a 15 there was nothing unsuitable in it for them. Just a bit of swearing. Probably be classified as a 12A nowadays. It was actually much better than I remembered!

the way to do it.
after buying 30 days of night and being very dissapointed by the film , i decided to buy this old offering and totally enjoyed the film even though i had seen it a few times before its funny the story is good there is load of tension in fact everything a good film needs, instead of bad acting and buckets of blood the most modern vampire flicks offer.the lost boys is probabley the most enjoyable vampire film over the last 25 years teenagers will love it and all film collections should have a copy .money well spent.
