Works really well. Takes it time so you need to put it on early enough and make sure the stop ramp is lined up properly otherwise it will run away or fall over

I have good water pressure and this works very well, my grass is green and well watered, it struggles to follow the hose pipe round tight corners so you need well sloped curves not turns but it does the job on a straight line, it will not go over joiners or connectors.

The Orbit travelling sprinkler is made to USA standards in common with most of these devices. You will have to find the appropriate adapters to use with UK standards but these are available on Amazon. At first I was a little disappointd by its range and speed but after fixing all the leaks it is capable of throwing water in about a 25ft diameter. It is critical to prevent leaks; the coverage went from about 12ft to about 25 ft after I used PTFE tabe on all the joints and removed the stop end from the hose connecter. Although the leaks were apparently relatively minor they were having a dramatic effect on performance. Take a little time to ensure that the maximum pressure that you tap has is transmitted to the sprinkler and, I think, you will be happy with your purchase. On the flat it travells well on both high and low speeds but my garden has a few slopes. I have not yet tried to get it to go up the slopes but I do not anticiapate any problems given that it can pull the hose behind it, but we shall see! .

I have 1,200 sq m of grass so moving a normal garden sprinkler would be a full time job. With this, I need to re set it only twice and it looks after itself all other times. It also stops the water flow when it rides up a little ramp and the plunger underneath is activated. Only thing stopping me giving it full marks is this doesn’t always work. On the whole, very pleased and would highly recommend it.

Absolutely brilliant! It took a fair bit of gnashing and wailing to get it working; had to get the correct 3/4” male hose connector for the back of sprinkler, then a hose connector without auto stop. But then up and running and it’s brilliant. The trajectory of the water is easy to manipulate and it is slow to move (slightly quicker on the down slope) so it really does give everything a good soak. Even on the super hot +28c days early in July I only watered every three days and once a week in the dry weeks since - my garden has flourished. No longer watering for an hour every day or having to do the sprinkler dash! For reference my garden is 50/8m and takes 3.5 hours on High to do a full run on a slight incline.

Tried mine today for the first time.. Out of the box the first impression is that this is a very substantial piece of equipment. It can spray water across a large variety of widths, purely by making an adjustment to the angle of the tubes. I found the best way to set the width of coverage was to either get someone to operate the water stopcock, or take a run into the spay, and get wet, then twist the arm so I could see where it would spay to. Don’t be confused about the type of spray. It doesn’t put out a mist, rather more of a solid spray, which by the very way it operates, will give you full coverage over your area. The shut off operated at the end of travel as it ran over the ramp, so in theory, you could leave this to run in attended. Only thing I would add is that if you intend to use a Hoseloc type connection, I’d recommend you buy a hoseloc x 3/4”male thread (preferably brass) connector at the same time as you buy it. My hose has a join in it, and the front wheel had no issues in passing over it.

AVOID!!! Faulty unit with a loose brass connector which causes it to leak between the main unit and connector. I exchanged it only to find the exact problem!

I've been using this for a few weeks now and I think it's great. It does the watering and is fun to watch. My only issue is getting the flow set up nicely to start off is a bit trial and error with the spray arm angle and the water pressure.

The garden sprinkler is very well made of cast iron, will not break or rust. Takes some trial and error in properly layout of the hose when creating the path to be followed. Can't have sharp curves (will not follow) . On hilly terrain must put the stop gate perpendicular to the slope otherwise it will fall off the track and roam off on its own. Has hi/low speeds and a water in place mode. It can pull over 200 ft. of hose behind it so can cover a large area at one time. Its' coverage is approximately 40-50 ft. depending on angle of sprinkler arms and water pressure. All in all great sprinkler for a large area requiring watering.

This thing works great if you have a larger area to water. The spray radius is very easy to change. You just need to keep an eye on it when it os nearing the end. I have used 5 times now and the shutoff plunger has not engaged once. Three times it drove off the ramp instead of over it and twice it just moved the ramp because the spike underneath did not hold. It is not really a big deal once you have an idea of how long it will run. Overall I would definitely recommend it. Whoever thought of this had a great idea.
