Great budget lens for learning manual photography
I bought this for my Sony A6300, and it is a great budget lens to learn manual photography. I was looking for the most compact lens with a 35mm equivalent focal length (due to the crop sensor). The lens is very small and lightweight making this a great choice for street photography. I am using this lens in aperture priority mode (A) so that the camera can control the ISO while I control the aperture and focus. - The build feels very premium, everything you can touch is metal. There is a clicked aperture ring and a smooth focus ring. - Low light performance is pretty good at wide open F2. At larger apertures there is vignetting but it is pretty easy to fix in editing. - In the daytime, I also use a VND filter so that I can get good background blur with F2.8 without overexposing the image.

One foot in two different eras of photography!
I purchased this lens to mount to my A6000 digital camera, primarily for use as a walk-around/travel/street rig while leveraging a camera body I already own, and still enjoy shooting with. This lens gives great, sharp and bright image quality in a very small package when mounted to that camera, providing performance far above even the best โcompactโ prime cameras I considered at nearly the same size overall, and obviously for far less money than a specialized travel โcompactโ camera. I havenโt had this lens long, but based on my long-term experience with my other TTArtisan lens (40 mm Macro) I had NO qualms about buying this one, specifically for the purposes noted. In a short term use I have come to โpat myself on the backโ for selecting this item. I have found some very slight vignetting at certain apertures, not a deal breaker for me, but just a note. (Itโs really minimalโฆ.and itโs also a sub $100. lens-keep that in perspective) Itโs small size, fast aperture of 2.0 and TTArtisans super high-quality all metal build, along with (IMPORTANT POINT ALERT) all MANUAL focus and APERTURE controls provide a very nostalgic, and vintage tactile experience even on todayโs digital camerasโฆ(YES, Iโm old enough to remember shooting analog, film all manually adjusted cameras). That user experience, in the right use case, is a refreshing change of pace to todays โauto everythingโ cameras, and delivers outstanding results to those willing to put in the minimal extra effort to focus by hand. The focus feedback, or โdampingโ as itโs often called is smooth as silk, precise and a pleasure to perform. The aperture ring is โclickedโ at each stop and can me set between full stops as well. Caveat: This isnt a lens for those seeking the latest in high tech auto-focus, etc. as it doesnโt have that technology, and for me, and my use caseโฆthats exactly what I wanted. This is a homage to an era of photography of years gone by IMO, yet designed for todayโs digital equipment. I even enjoy the somewhat atypical TTArtisans all metal, screw on lens caps although this seems to be a somewhat controversial subject. From my POV, this lens cap provides extra protection for a camera Iโll likely toss into my backpack with other items, without fear of it popping off while bouncing around in there. Also, when its off itโs sooo thin you cant feel it in your pocket. Just like the manual focusing and exposure controls, the second or two of additional time required to spin the lens cap on or off vs a plastic pop-on/off type cap is worth it to me, as itโs sturdy, super thin, and like the rest of the lens almost built to a โpiece-of-artโ standard which Iโve never found any plastic lens cap to be! This lens encourages a photographer to slow down, enjoy the process of shooting each image, and do some of the โthinkingโ about each shot, for themselves. So-YES Iโm a fan, Iโve spent more on dinner than the cost of this lens (and my other TTARtisan lens for that matter) and both have permanent, and very distinct places in my lens line-up.

Small Footprint; Well Built
This is a neat little lens given its price and size. The glass is not as clear as other lens in my collection, however it is lightweight and ideal for a slim pack. I have taken this on many trips and used the lens with a โpoint and shootโ type approach to street photography. As an easy to use lens, with nice bokeh, and a small footprint, I would still recommend this for its inexpensive price tag.

Great performance in a small package
This is a quality lens, that offers great performance at a budget price. Capable of extremely sharp images. I'm currently using it with my Sony a7Cr in APS-C mode. The menus are easy to follow and there are many options for customization. Image quality is very good, with enough resolution, (61mpx), to allow for deep cropping. Internal image stabilization allows you to capture sharp low noise images even in less than optimal lighting conditions.

Fine but some compromises
Cool lens. Tiny. No electronic contacts, but at that price point, it's okay. The image quality is fine-ish but falls apart if you crop at all or want to print larger. Low light is also challenged because of no real coatings. The hype is a bit much if you see other reviews, but it's just fine if you're okay with that. Less quality than the kit lens. The biggest draw is probably the size.

Not bad for a lower cost lens..
Colors look good, looks like itโs doing a good job of resolving details on a 26mp sensor. Thereโs smearing in the corners and a bit of fringing in high contrast areas. Handling is reasonable, focus is smooth and doesnโt require too much rotation. It extends while focusing, which moves the aperture ring, which is weird for muscle memory. Iโd like a bit more defined detents for aperture and a thicker ring. Still, itโs a good lens for the price and you can get photos you can enjoy. It has a good retro feel and can get some subject/background separation on apsc. I put on a 43-49mm step up ring and a 49mm pitch cap. I already have a few 49mm filters that I can use with it if I choose to.

decent lens
For the price this is a nice lens. Nothing automatic about it, it's all manual. Almost makes the camera a pocket camera.

A solid choice for a manual pancake lens
The focus ring is well dampened but the markings are off. The aperture ring is clicked and feels responsive and premium. Image quality is quite good when you get the focus right but the coatings make it prone to flaring and chromatic aberration in harsh sunlight. The all metal build makes its build quality and feel on par with my more expensive Sony and Sigma lenses. Using this lens is a completely different experience in comparison to autofocus lenses I typically use and its construction makes its handling very intuitive and easy. Overall, for the $85 CAD I spent, it is well worth the money overall.

Good budget lens for APS-C cameras
Bought for my Sony NEX-5. Really nice compact wide angle lens. Somewhat limited in function no a/f or zoom but a great lens for the price and really well built.

Exceptional cheap glass for small mirrorless cameras
Excellent fixed length glass. It's been perfect for street photography and portraits paired with my Sony NEX-5n. The aperture ring to change how open or closed the lens is has been fantastic and so much fun to use. I'm loving TTArtisan and want more of their products.

Great little lens for the money
Lens is very sharp in the centre and does great in a lot of environments. Build quality is fantastic, feels a lot better than lenses that are much more expensive. There is noticeable blurring in the corners of the frame if you look for it but its not apparent in most images if the subject is lined up well.
