The knife is very sharp and the adjustable guide is very helpful. Whether slicing tomatoes, onions or other vegetables consistent width is key. The guide and knife is very well made. Comfortable to use with no risk of cutting fingers. The knife does take a little getting used to as you have to start the slice with the guide and then cut through it as you pull back. This is for right hand cutting only. I don’t know if there is a left hand version available if needed. I highly recommend and would buy again.

Having used them for many years, I have found that these are indispensable utensils in the food service industry, and they're equally great in the home kitchen. The knife is lightweight, comfortable to wield, and not too short (about the length of a bread knife). The guide locks nicely and allows consistently even thickness in slices, the serrated blade is sharp and works very well on vegetables (gherkins to whole cabbages), breads (English muffins to dense loaves), and meats (de-boned fowl pieces to large roasts). Highly recommended.

Serrated blade. Could be a bit finer. It really hacks away. You'll get measured slices, but they won't be pretty.

Great idea. I could really have used this in the kitchen. Unfortunately, the knife doesn't cut at all! I tried this on several veggies and even bread. Could not get this to cut. Sadly, I waited too long to return them (couldn't find a box that would fit.) So now I'm stuck. Don't buy this whatever you do!

I actually had to work with this knife at my job and I will say it's easy to clean, easy to use, and i would definitely recommend getting one. Remember to keep a non-cut glove on your free hand because some fruit like honey dew tends to make the knife nick you.

This guide knife is awesome, very sharp, cuts well, functions well. The metal guide is very loose and jagged when adjusting but straightens parallel to the blade when you tightenen. I like the handle shape better than the Victorinox, more comfortable for ME, the knife says “Carbon” on it in very light text, I did not know this before buying, I prefer stainless steel, BUT, we will see

We use this knife all the time for thing slices. Someone mentioned the guard got in the way and it didn't cut thru.... you have to draw the knife through whatever you are slicing(which is how a knife cuts as it's not a cleaver for chopping) so that the guard doesn't interfere with the last inch or so. We have no problems, but could see how someone unfamiliar with the proper use of a knife(it's not for chopping but slicing) could have trouble.

The guide works fairly well on items that dont require a sharp knife. Its simply not as sharp as other bread knives i own. Id pass on it.

It is everything it needs to be and a deal for the price!
